A quote from a late great football manager which sums up a true football fan. A fan who will follow his team through the ups and downs, through thick and thin, a true supporter. A fan who truly feels the pain in defeat and the ecstasy of victory something that a modern day 'plastic' glory hunting 'fan' of a 'big' club could never experience.

“What is a club in any case?
Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it.
It's not the television contracts, get-out clauses,
    marketing departments or executive boxes.
It's the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your City.

It's a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time,
gripping his father's hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf
beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

Puts everything perfectly into perspective for me and is the reason why I will follow my beloved Canaries regardless of what League they find themselves in, until I draw my last breath.

    BUT ...................Who said it?

My enjoyment of the beautiful game has been spoiled by the vilification of a kind and decent man by a section of our home crowd that has, in my humble opinion, showed a distinct lack of class! I'm not talking about showing displeasure at results and style of play, I'm talking about the method of showing that displeasure!

We have always been kindly regarded by neutrals, that image has now been tarnished! I'm not starting another inners v outers rant, just showing my disappointment!

Please Dave, can we call a truce ? I've really had a belly full of the rights and wrongs of Hughton's dimissal. He's history now so please give it a rest, we move on.

Mad me feel a bit better about the game. Whilst staying in the Prem would be great, there are certain aspects that do make you wonder what it has become. Yes the cash and seeing (sometimes) great players in front of you is all well and good but becoming a club that is just trying to survive with no ambition is disheartening at times. As Warky says, next season, they are going to go again with an ambition. That goes when you get to the Prem as Leicester and Burnley fans will find out.

Not enough Sir Bobby's around i'm afraid.

A lovely sentiment in the thread, but I have to ask the OP how much he feels he has actually been "supporting" the club this season? As far as u can see he has spent the best part of the last year moaning, whinging and trying to concoct as much negative bilge as he possibly can. Pathetic that you dig this kind of quote up no after the **** you have been stirring all year season.

If that's being a true "supporter" then I must be doing something wrong.

And yes, I am in a ****ing **** mood right now so I don't care who I offend, your bullshit and ignorance has offended me plenty the past year or so so **** it.

Is highlighting certain 'glaring deficiencies' (in some %age of the fan base), such a bad thing? Does that really show lack of support of the club, wanting the best for the club? I feel it does not, and is a perfectly reasonable stance to take, if that is the way people see it.
