The cameras just showed Rose's furious reaction to his number going up. Very petulant. Sherwood makes too many mistakes for my liking, but that definitely wasn't one of them.
Good chance for Arnautovic, which he hit straight at Lloris without much power. It's basically 10 v 10 now, as Townsend's a passenger following Pieters' heavy challenge. We've lost all composure and have been **** in the second half. Totally intimidated.
Paullinho bizarrely showboating. Loses the ball. Kaboul takes it at the back and strolls up the park. Nearly puts someone in, but it's wasted. MOTM. Kane wins a free-kick from a very poor Arnautovic foul. In the book.
Paulinho wastes a very, very good chance, allowing Begovic to save with his foot when clean through on goal. Doesn't matter though, as the ref blows the final whistle shortly afterwards. Really **** performance, especially in the second half. The red card rejuvenated them and the reaction totally rattled us. No leadership.
Well done Tim another 3 points Paulinho is a complete waste of space, out of the "magnificent 7" signed this season he's by far the worse (including Lamela)
I'm struggling to see how Sherwood came to the conslusion that leaving 2 up top and making like for like replacements was the way to go when we were getting outplayed by 10 men of Stoke. It's like he was trying to stop us winning. ****ing idiot. Marriner totally lost control of the game. Shawcross was rightly sent off but it didn't look like he would even give a foul at first and from then on he was giving dodgy decisions to both sides. Glad we took the points but that was an awful game, we were just lucky that Stoke were worse infront of goal than we were.
We manage to snatch a very lucky win off a very poor performance against 10 men Stoke. Welcome to the future of football at Spurs under Sherwoodie!
sorry but I just don't get him at all no pace Can't beat a player Can't finish Can't pass a ball Can't head a ball no strength can't tackle but he plays for Brazil so he must be good
He looks very good whenever he plays for Brazil. I think the key is getting a manager in that knows what he's doing so Paulinho can get some momentum going.
Heard them singing it during the game but couldn't make out what the words were.
Agreed. He looks completely demotivated and unsure of his role. I'd really like to see him under a manager who knows what he's doing. Let's face it, if you're used to playing for Brazil and you come down to the sort of ****e that AVB and Sherwood produce, it's hardly surprising if he's left wondering WTF he's doing in the middle of this farce!.
Paulinho needs to be freed up a bit and played alongside a holding player or moved up further. He's trying to do everything in the middle and ends up doing nothing. 4-1-4-1, please.
I can't believe you are putting the poor performances down to Sherwood, the guy isn't good enough simple as that, doesn't matter who is manager is.
If you haven't, I have seen the quality Paulinho posesses. In the right setting with Sandro for example he has a quick football brain and is capable of producing killer passes. I would be very sad to see us lose him because our team is not set up right.
Difficult to be churlish when we have another away win, but that performance said as much about what is wrong with us at the moment as it did our positives. Credit to Rose for coming up with a good goal, but the rest of his performance showed clearly why he should not be the No. 1 LB. Paulinho consistently fails to play at a level befitting a current Brazillian first teamer. Lennon was simply appalling - was the ball magnetic, cos it seemed like his boots were on reverse polarity!! Our passing generally was **** - especially in the last quarter. Actually thought that Marriner actually had a half decent game considering all the undue pressure put on him by Hughes and the crowd. Could (and perhaps should?) have sent Rose off for his overreaction. The ref certainly made a darn sight fewer errors in the 94 minutes than we managed!! However, Stoke proved that what ever style of football they adopt, they always end up reverting to type. Cynical, nasty fouls. Adam even managing to show what a **** he is even when not actually on the pitch!! But as I say, another win, some more cracks papered over and even more chance that we will not have a different manager next season
He's not the only player to struggle under Sherwood. Do you seriously think players aren't affected by the manager's instructions? Sherwood is asking Chadli and Paulinho to take on 3 man midfields every week and dominate when it's in neither player's game as both are attacking players who have are used to haing a more defensive player beside them, or playing ahead of the rest of the midfield.
