Everton imploding in the top 4 race. Two hilarious own goals. Alcaraz and Coleman. Coleman slightly unlucky that Stone decided not to make contact with an excellent Nathaniel Clyne cross. Southampton fans having some real sport with Everton "We've got your back four, we've got your back four, who needs Rodriguez, we've got your back four" "We don't need to score, we don't need to score, we are Southampton, we've got your back four" and cries of "Shoooooot" every time an Everton defender touches the ball. Southampton have been really good.

Outside possibility of slipping into 11th place this weekend. How would a 'bottom half finish' go down after we were ahead if likes likes of Man U and well positioned to chase a potential Europa place?

Saints are everything we've not been in recent weeks/months. Fast, attack-minded, comfortable on the ball, creative, great all-round work rate (on and off the ball), work as a unit...I could go on.

Oh, and did I mention having a British core? <whistle>

We're so ****, seahorses everywhere are committing suicide out of the simple embarrassment of association with our club. I went to the aquarium at Tynemouth, and one of them was genuinely trying to hang itself with its own tail.

It's actually started making me feel more sorry for them than the black cats owned by Sunderland dwellers, even though I thoroughly believe that having to subsist near a bunch of naked, primitive, hair-eating baboon lovers should be against animal rights.

I see Southampton, with "nothing to play for", are beating Everton. Honestly, I don't know why they bother - don't they know it's a waste of time to bother playing for your club and its' fans? Owners and boards everywhere are delighted just to see survival. Aren't they?7

Adding to this, but removing sarcasm, interesting to note - and tipping my hat to DMW - the sheer depth of Englishmen on display at St Marys. Not only experience, like Lambert and Lallana, but the young 'uns Cork, Gallagher, Shaw, Ward-Prowse and now Harrison Reed. Massive kudos to them, and to the manager for playing them. By contrast, Gael Bigirimana has been in local Geordie news complaining about being frozen out. Good job, Pards - but I don't expect any less anymore.

Nathaniel Clyne was outstanding today, didn't give Deulofeu a kick. Another smart cheap home grown purchase by Southampton. Out of contract, cost small compensation fee. We were linked for a while. Smart kid, clearly saw which one was the more ambitious club.

He looked to have some genuine potential and class in many appearances last season. He has been injured for a chunk of this season though and that can really set young players back.

I doubt we even followed through on our interest - MA probably got put off by the idea of a tribunal fee.

Unlike Dummett, who pretty much presented him with a MoM award and the freedom of the city.

Fulham 2 up and out of the relegation zone - as things stand. Swansea winning + West Brom winning to pull themselves clear.

Really piles the pressure on Norwich, Cardiff and that other team at the bottom.

I don't see Norwich winning another point this season. Villa v Hull could be massive. I think that will both of those teams last chance to get points. The mackems have hope of getting out if they can win the home games.
