If Monk is appointed I think it will be my first summer as a Swans supporter where I will not be excited about what might be possible in the coming season....
    I will dread the signings....
I will dread the quality players leaving whilst Monk and the board dish out the contracts to their mates....
I will dread the ceasing of the evolution we were undertaking in favour of a return to a style of football which has been worked out by our opponents....
I will dread reading all the excuses from the 'Monk fan boys' followed by an about turn and demands for his head....
I will dread the fall out.

    It's all so ****ing predictable.
I fear it's downhill from here. The one comfort being that the investment in the infrastructure should prevent us sinking as low as we were when I first started following.
Just feel sad about this season really.

Don't worry Terror, as gendros said, it's a story out if nothing with no direct quotes.
    At least I hope.

I might be able to get a season ticket if Monk is in charge. The pros are no stadium expansion will be necessary as we will be in Div 1 in 2015, lower wage bill as Lita and Ngog will be the highest earners, cons are so many I will not comment, fark I can be sarcastic

The club initially approached Gary Speed & Billy Reid but they both turned us down ,so we got lucky with Rodgers ,whether this "luck" can continue remains to be seen , but there's an awful lot riding on who the next manager will be , not only does he have to start weeding out the dross but instil his on stamp on the Club.If it's Monk then he's half way there on the 1st point but the second is the one on where he'l be judged on. We can't afford to be tentative in our support of who ever the next manger is nor he in his ability to get results ,we can't afford to play catch up if results are poor to start with so the a lot of work to do both on and off the field .
IMO I think the deal been struck already with Monk being the next incumbent so he'll get my support but he's going to have to deliver an awful lot to satisfy the majority of the supporters who doubt his ability ,myself included .

Wasn't Rodgers playing catch up after we lagged in our first several Premier League games? But then again that was Rodgers at the helm and he is an amazing manager as shown by what he has done when put in charge of a pressure cooker job at Liverpool.

Care to analyse your assessment there? Most pundits, opposition fans and Monk fanboys are of the opinion it was the more direct approach after Rodgers exit that was found out, as it coincided with the bad run.

Barring the end of last season, which is irrelevant anyway, just look at Southampton right now, nothing to play for, like us last season, and effectively have 10 points from 10 games for them, which is the same form as us all season.

Our mediocre (as some call it) run, had more to do with the extra fixtures, which over the years, pretty much every other club in the Europa has struggled with, yet we have some (sorry it has to be said) dimwit fans, that think it should not affect our super club.

And like you say, "most pundits, and opposition fans" know how much the Europa league can affect teams. IF people had the ability to see past the fact that we are only a small club, then maybe we would not be in the predicament we find ourselves in.

Don't forget two points from the relegation zone and 36 points from 38 games.

A season and a half then..<laugh> We have been going down hill ever since the cup final and i hope now we can start to play the game like we know we can and become a top half team again. Lets hope monk can achieve it and he gets all the backing from the board and fans to do a proper job...

Fair play to Garry Monk for getting our first back to back wins in over 17 months, and Emnes for getting us another penalty, Please sign Emnes Huw, and do not sell Bony this summer whatever happens! We are well and truly safe, thank you Garry for saving our season, now lets collect the remaining points left for fun!.............<cheers>

The twatmongery that goes on on this forum is on a scale comparable to the Tory Cabinet.

At the end of the first half, we looked in disarray (despite the 2-1 lead), but after the break we regained some composure and possession to stifle Villa.

Regardless of perspective, we won 4-1 bloody 1.

Jenkins has appointed manager after manage that has delivered success.

Chill the **** out and calm the **** down. If it's Monk, act with a bit of responsibility and support the guy at the club. If it isn't, support the new guy.

Slagging off the guy that just got us a 4-1 victory doesn't make sense.

The 'Predicament' was all of one previous inept manager's making, who went over 12 months without a back to back win, thank goodness Huw Jenkins had the balls to sack him!.............<cheers>

    Good post.

I honestly believe there are people on here who would rather Garry Monk failed and we were relegated than they were proven wrong.

That's why after every win or good result you hear the comments "lucky", "poor opposition", "poor performance", or even "the other side had more possession" !!.

Monk/Jenkins haters desperately trying somehow to cope with the massive cognitive dissonance invoked by seeing Monk actually doing a good job.
