Goals scoring and points ratio 44 games into a season seem pretty solid in assessing performance. Especially when compared with easy throw away comments like a player being ' the motivator'.

And I would only be wrong to dismissing your credit for not imploding if this was a 'most improved anger management course' awards

Fair enough mate. You make a good case for Barton. He's undoubtedly been far better than most of us expected.

How about "28 goals last season, only 16 this". Or "0.7 gpg last season, 0.55 this"?

Again, for the hard of thinking among you - I'm not saying anything against Charlie. I just think Joey is more deserving - especially given the aspect you are still keen to dismiss far too easily. When he last played for us, he was rightly slated for his attitude, his behaviour and his performances. All of those have been turned round, so why are you so unwilling to give him the credit he deserves?

While I have a certain sympathy with Joey Barton and his attempts to reform (a decent guy with a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde complex), I'd hope that the POTY award is based primarily on performance.

Taking the personality improvement aspect to the nth degree, it'd be a bit like giving Charles Manson the Time magazine man of the year award because he hasn't killed anyone in 12 months.

    Great post Damage.

Player of the season,, **** knows, Charlie would be a good shout, if Barton gets it I don't know what I'll think of QPR fans.

I will be voting based on the player that I think has had most impact primarily on the pitch; and I will also consider any activities undertaken by players off field that support the club's ethos and culture.

I cannot vote for Austin, Hill or Barton and I think Traore has been very good but no one player has turned it on IMO

Fair point, but I take into account his bullish determination all season. As said above, he dug out goals, at the times when service was poor. When he incurred his shoulder injury, he played on and scored, before his long period out.

Such a close vote for me between Hill, Austin, and Barton. But for the difference he has made when he had played it is Austin for me. Tough on Hill because he has been immense once again, but for Austin to get 16 goals with the little chances we create and having missed two months its him.

    POTY: Austin
    YPOTY: Hitchcock
Goal of the Season: Austin v Blackpool - team goal!

    Suprise suprise....<laugh>

Got to be Charlie hasnt it..without him we look totally lost and lacking any ability to take the game to the oppo. His injury showed us all exactly how important a player he is.

    runner up Hill.

The day i vote for Joey will be a sad day for me...<ok>
