Surely not, would make himself a laughing stock and a bit of a VT if he did that. Besides i dont belive this Director of Football ****e works anyway.
It's not a rumour I'm trying to start If there's no truth in it then fair enough but I've heard this from a couple of sources. Perhaps those with contacts at the Club can scotch it.
For me it would be suicide for the Club to allow Monk to rebuild the team for next season. Hopefully Jenkins has someone lined up and there will be an announcement as the season finishes. Monk is now posturing for the media trying to protect the job, saying he has a list of signings, Jenkins should shake his hand and let him go asap, paying him up and not do what he did to ML. Uzi I dont think any fans here believe we have a god given right to Premiership football, rather the club has to make the best decisions to keep us there. There is an awful lot for the city to lose if relegated. The first decision must be to appoint a new manager asap.
Shum mishtake. Finished higher in the league then promoted to the World's top league next season. How come anything that doesn't fit in with your view (e.g. away win to Newcastle) is always down to luck?
How come you managed to arrive at that little gem? In my OPINION, get it? OPINION! I thought we were fortunate to get the three points at Newcastle as they created more chances (with less possession) than we did. I'll take it though because, particularly under Laudrup, we didn't get that much. As for Rodgers' appointment, yes, I do believe we got lucky because quite obviously, Rodgers was nowhere near their first choice and he turned out to be an almost perfect fit. Care to debate that? Whilst you're at it, what about commenting on my other points? I note that you remain completely silent on the Sousa debacle and the business over the contracts. Do I take it that you agree about those issues or do you just prefer to be selective and pick the bits that suit your argument?
Ivor out of curiosity who were our first choices when we appointed Rodgers? Be interesting to see if they made the right choice to snub us.
And the moral of the story is that we all have our own Opinions and our own Views but the only Opinion and view that matters and counts for anything is jinx and the board as we don't have any say in what they do or dont do...All we can do as fans is trust that they know more about the why's and the why not's on why they make the decisions they do..There is always a reason..
No I didn't. How could it have been a mistake if we were promoted to the Premier League next season? I bet there's a lot of fans wishing their club chairman made mistakes like that.
Drifting my arse ! Laudrup was just getting his team back to health , after playing the creme of the creme during a greulling time . while mantaining us in all 3 competitions. We got knocked out of almost everything, including the Premier , in the games to follow ......Jenkins was the best chairman for years , then threw it all away , with a lot of fans dreams , in one foul swoop of stupidity
We were dire under the last 12 months of Laudrup's rein. Apart from about 4 games, we looked completely disinterested. The fact the Board saw enough cause for concern to sack him must surely be an indicator. Do you think they took that decision lightly? And don't say Monk got us knocked out of everything - we should have beaten Napoli (whereas under Laudrup we'd become cannon-fodder in Europe), and the Everton FA Cup game was clearly deprioritized with the Liverpool league game and the Napoli euro game on the horizon. The truth is, we've actually started to show a bit of desire again in the last few months. There have been some poor performances (WBA home, Hull away) but all things considered, we've just about done enough. I think the Board will look back on the season with a lot of frustration but also a huge sigh of relief. We should stay up, and we can reset ready for the new campaign with a manager that actually gives two hoots for the club.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/swansea-city-appoint-garry-monk-3457762? Some one knows something ,or do they ?
I can access the article. It says that Monk will be the manager next season with 'will' in capital letters.
Oh well we'll just have to hope they are right and 80% of us on this board are wrong. No doubt we'll all get behind him if he gets it and most of us are more than happy to eat humble pie if it means the team doing well.
I just want to f**king survive campionijack, I just want the 2nd half of this season to be over . In all its glory getting into cups and winning a cup , this 2nd half of the season is a very low point f or me . We lost mega respect , that was built istutly, over a few mega mistakes . What could have been .....
Trundle, can't remember, consigned it to the "irrelevant now" when Rodgers delivered. It's out there somewhere if you want to look. And, yes, it would be interesting to see how they fared. One or two of them at least must be pretty brassed off as we've done so well.
