I think you're reading into it far too much. We lost against Sunderland effectively putting us out of the title race due to the fact we now need to rely on two team slipping up to win the thing. On the other hand we have just come away from a very tough 1st leg in Madrid without conceding and have them at Stamford Bridge - a place where our record in Europe is excellent - 3 days after our game with you. We have suspensions and injuries to key players already leaving us threadbare as it is, we should not be risking injury to the players left in the competition we have a much better chance of winning.

Haven't you sort of contradicted yourself? We have a good squad but are winning by merit of two good players? We've maybe 14 good players. The rest (Moses, Aspas etc) are poor. Our squad is doing exceptionally well to be here at this stage. If we were competing in Europe we'd have bought more players and not loaned out the likes of Suso etc. Like I said, it balances out.
