There is probably a little rectangular device near you with some numbers on it. Enter some numbers and press the 'dial' or 'call' button... it's a marvelous invention called a telephone. I really feel that in the modern world, people have forgotten to use it. If you need information or answers quickly, use the phone.

 

Lots of reasons, the return message may have gone into the spam folder, do you check yours regularly? The recipient may see who it is from and send it to trash, there is no law yet that says you must reply to all e mails or else. Do you forget to add a title in the subject box? Perhaps if you added RSVP to your message it might work. When you say never, is that an exaggeration or true, if it is a fact, then you have a different problem............

 

I agree entirely Pie, but we will probably end up paying as passengers when they have to recover that cost through other means.

 

I delete all spam and trash every day (after checking) as it keeps it nice and tidy. People who don't can often miss things. However, a lot of people don't respond to all e-mails...in the past the same people would have ignored letters. Phoning is the best way if you want an urgent reply....the problem with that is that some companies no longer man their phone lines properly.

 

Drunken passengers have been ordered to pay costs in the past.

 

ok, little miss organized...... some of us may 'like' 2000 emails in our inbox and half a set of sub folders that get forgotten about

Do you have one e-mail address..? If so, I suggest you organise a few more. Organise yourself for friends, business, bills, etc... You'll find that however many mails build up, you can keep on top of them. And, if you've no real intention of reading them all, mark them as read.

I know how you feel. The other day I was asked by my sister if I could recommend some secondhand hi-fi deals from ebay. As some people know, vinyl is making one of usual resurgences and my niece has got her LPs down from the loft and she wants a turntable, amp, and speakers. I can provide the latter items, but turntables are my diamonds, so I won't loan them out. So there I was advising my niece by email what could be done. That was a week ago. No acknowledgement, no, kiss-my-arse, no, I've-gone-off-the-idea, no nothing..!

I emailed my sister. Apparently my niece doesn't ever reply to emails, missed phone calls, anything. And I'm trying to help her..?

No she does it with everybody. You're thinking of youth here, I can tell. My niece is 46 and a mother. She left cool behind years ago.
