Ps. where did you get Reed's quotes from? I can't find them.

 

FLT - Who said he was? Every sports journalist under the sun it seems.

The quotes were from a bit Reed did before today's press conference. Tweeted by the club, will probably be written up shortly as the conference is over.

Have to say this is a pretty clear statement, even more so than the tweets suggested.

 

Key bits for me are:

Excellent message and well worded, to let us all know their intentions; happy with that.

I would guess (and sincerely hope) that the "probably" refers to the likes of Osvaldo, Forte, and possibly Hooiveld, i.e. they probably won't be met with a "no, not for sale".

Had to laugh at the end of that audio recording. Answering question re other clubs briefing the press on their purchases of our players:

Reed: "I'm not aware that other clubs are briefing the press"

Journalist: "<laughing> They are!"

Serious point, shouldn't it be an offence to lie to the media that you are close to signing another team's players?

I don't suppose they would get many journalists willing to testify, for fear of losing access, but it's pretty underhand isn't it?
