According to Bruce, both Brady and McShane are targeting a return in time to be available for the final. McGregor is also hoping to be available, but I'm not so sure Bruce thinks it's worth risking him.
There have been times when the tenacity of McShane would have been most welcome. He always seems to come back ready to rumble; at least on the bench for me.
It seems I got that a bit wrong, Bruce thinks McGregor and McShane could be available for the final, but he doesn't think Brady will be ready. McGregor, McShane and Aluko are all back in training today.
Having seen Harper's performance on Sunday, it would be harsh, but I would sooner see McGregor back in goal as soon as possible.
McGregor is only jogging at the moment, so it sounds like he's a bit of a way off yet. Long has been passed fit to play tomorrow.
I love the Macca, we have missed him. If Macca, McGregor or Brady even get on the bench for the final that is not only testament to them as individuals but also to the medical/physio team who must have done some near miraculous work.
When did McShambles get crocked? It was this year wasn't it? It is a miracle that he's already back in training, great stuff.
That is great news. Harper is a good deputy, but McGregor all day long for me. McShane, great to have around as an option. Could yet play a key part in our run in. Aluko could be our wild card for Wembley, IF he can get near his old form. Brady is possibly the most valuable of the lot, but there's no way he's going to be up to speed & ready (in mind and body), unfortuantely. But hopefully we can look forward to having Brady and Aluko back to their best for our 4th PL season next season.
I would love to see McGregor back in goal, but I would rather have him rested and fully fit for next season than risk him coming back too soon. McShane coming back and into the team would be great, I think he was have a decent season before his injury. Like I said about McGregor the same stands for Brady, rather have him rested and fully fit for next season than risk further injury because he came back too soon. Aluko being fit and in form could be a key for us for the last few games and for Wembley, so hopefully he will be ready
How is McShane back in training? He only got injured about 2 months ago and Bruce said he didn't expect him to be back for the start of pre-season. What a man.
He's Superman, it's the only explanation. In similar news, Bryan Oviedo broke his leg in two places only three months ago for Everton. He's already back in training.
If we are going to play a back 3 at Wembley, would much prefer Davies/Chester/Macca at the back, with McGregor in goal.
Certainly. I'd sooner see Elmo or Figueroa play at full back than Bruce against Arsenal in our first ever cup final.
