With respect, I have taken a balanced view.

I have recognised and applauded what he did for us last season. You on the other hand, appear to want to ignore the diminishing return in PL points and the poor performances in the PL. Did you go to Upton Park?

Do I expect us to win the PL - no. However, I do expect (with this current squad) that we should be more than able to survive in the PL.

Rather than drink espresso, take a couple of reality pills. Perhaps, just perhaps, they will let you see both sides of the situation.

Do you honestly believe that Huw sacked him for no reason at all - or just because GM wanted him to?

aswan, to be honest, when necessary, the grunt work is done by others and much credit to them for that. I accepted the position when asked to help out, on the understanding that my input would have to be limited because of other writing commitments, proof reading etc.

Reality pills, I didnt need them when I saw us take a draw and a loss frm West Brom and Palace.

I think if ML was still in charge we would be in the position he left us or higher.

I think Jenkins panicked and this was compounded by Monk backstabbing Laudrup in a fit of pique.

    Were you in Valencia?

Monk as the great unifier, the players choice, was a complete fabrication.

Rather than sitting my arse on the fence like you I have seen the decisions, observed the results and come to the conclusion Jenkins was wrong, Monk is a 'chump' and many of the people here including you do not credit our greatest ever manager with the respect due.

Rather than take the splinter out of my eye take the log out of your own.

Yes - I was in Valencia, front row (really row 3 as rows 1 and 2 were taped off). Stayed in Benidorm travelled up by coach organised by bar in Benidorm.

You didn't answer - were you in Upton Park?

Many would argue that Tosh was our greatest Manager, taking us from the 4th Division to the 1st. Indeed, you were wrong in an earlier post - Tosh took us to our highest ever league position - we finished 6th.

What do you mean sitting on the fence - I support the Chairman's decision. That said, I acknowledge what ML did for us.

You on the other hand refuse to see or accept that things had deteriorated. You point to injuries etc - but who decided to run with a thin squad?

Do I want GM as full time Manager next year? As I've stated earlier, and in other threads, no.

You are entitled to your opinion, and after 48 years of supporting the Swans, so am I.

It's a bit worrying that Monk is expecting Swansea talks, for his position to be made permanent? Hope the media have this all wrong, but he seems to think he has a foot in the door already.

"I'm sure in the near future that talks will be happening. "Hopefully I will sit down with the chairman and the board and see where they want to go and what part of their plans I come into. "But my future is not down to me. I'm just focused on what I'm doing right now, trying to get the win against Villa." - Monk

Clearly Garry Monk as the interim boss expects to hold talks over the full-time job soon, and I can see a lot of very unhappy fans this summer if this is true..........<ok>

As far as I'm concerned, if Monk gets the job full time and flops, Jenkins should resign along with him. I think public opinion will leave him no choice.

Laudrup s final 10 games , against top teams and infested by injuries ,Monks last10 games against "An easier shedule " and a fit team , both with the same ****ty run . Laudrup got us to the 2nd round of Europa and the5th roundof the FA UP ., Monk got us out of both cups in the least possible games . There is no sand left taff , your hogging it all , reasoning isnt your strong suit .

You lack the ability to see reason - all you do is focus on ML's achievements, but you never admit that the guy had failings. Anyone who doesn't share your rose tinted view of life under ML is mocked.

If ML was so great, why did we not record back to back PL victories during his final 14 months in charge? Don't tell me - he always had a difficult fixture schedule to contend with.

GM's remit was to keep us in the PL, the Cups were secondary. If going out of the cups in the least possible number of games was the "price " for retaining our status, then it was a price worth paying - or would you prefer that we emulate Wigan?

Additionally, I am not carrying a flag for GM - I want someone else in charge next season. However, whilst he is in charge, he gets my 100% support.

Quote from Garry Monk on BBC website re: Giggs taking over at Man Utd.

"But any coaching badge doesn't prepare you for this sort of job, you have to learn on the go. That's something I've been doing and I'm sure Ryan will do the same."
