I've just completed the 12 week "Fitfans" weight loss course and I can't recommend it highly enough for any City fans who want to lose a few pounds. The course is at the KC stadium and you get to use the players facilities. One week we used the exercise bikes and equipment in the players warm up area next to the home dressing room and we have regularly trained pitchside in the dug out areas and on the terracing. Each session lasts approx an hour starting with a 20 minute talk on a different aspect of weight loss, diet and exercise. Followed by an exercise session. These sessions are informal. You can do as much or as little as you want. You are not put under any pressure at all. You set you're own pace. You lose weight the correct way by better diet coupled with exercise. So the weight you lose will not be put back on as soon as you finish the course. Ultimately they want you to be able to tighten your belt a notch or for your shirts to fit you better around the belly. Best of all it's completely FREE of charge. It is open to both men and women. The next 12 week course starts on 15.05.14 if any of you are interested. For more information see link http://www.fitfans.co.uk/
I'll second that and add that it's not just for people that want to get fitter or lose weight. Almost everyone doing it will end up with a better idea of nutrition, even if you think you know a lot now. You can use that information to keeps your loved ones happy and healthier, and you meet some good people on the course too.
I lost 63lbs in 2013 using My Fitness Pal app. The the best advice I can give anyone is find your own way that works for you.
Good effort mate. I know how hard it is, I've lost 2 stone since Christmas. Thing is I've been on holiday for the past week and have probably put half the bastard back on. I'll be hitting the gym next week. Soz Chazz, I loved being a big fat dynamo but times have changed.
Hey Carmine You're welcome to join me on my (almost daily) round of Spin, Swim (a mile minimum) and Boxercise down at the DW? You won't put an ounce back on doing that lot!
