Good article. I was listening to Stan Collymoore on the radio and he was saying that Van Gaal has a history of going for established stars, and neglects talented youth players. Just goes to show how little he knows.

The more I read about Van Gaal with his style of play, and his use of youth players, I'm starting to warm more and more to the prospect of him getting the job

Just how I feel, he's beginning to seem like the ideal person to come in. As well as what you've said, I've heard a couple of Dutch pundits saying he's very good at building long term foundations at a club and ALWAYS picks close confidants who know the club inside out to ensure whatever he builds in in line with the ethos of the club, AND he mentors them. Ideal for Giggs imo.

Read up on the guy you two. Hes a brilliant coach.

Funnily enough it was van gaal who inspired Fergie to use the kids. His Ajax team inspired so much and theres no club hes been at that hasnt been taken to another level.

The managers we are linked with already though. Compare to last season and its night and day.

Id take any tbh but the realistic one is as exciting as any.

    Exactly.

I know some ****wit will turn up with a <laugh> but the favourites are van Gaal, Anchellotti and Klopp, seemingly in that order. I want Klopp myself but any of those would be very, very good.

This makes a massive change from last year when no correct process was employed. Someone of high calibre is going to get the job and hopefully this time they would use the like of Giggs and Scholes properly rather than disdainfully.

I just hope we get some gentleman's agreement done as soon as possible just so some deals can be done behind the scenes. Word is we've already got an agreement on 2 players which was done a month or so ago. I know nowadays managers tend to be involved less in transfers at many clubs BUT I'd want LVG to have his name involved (even if it's behind the scenes) bcos that will carry a lot of weight with attracting players.

I think klopp will honour his contract and I respect him if he does.

Ancelotti is great but out of him and van gaal I would take the dutchman just because of his history. Not to say anceootti isnt brilliant as he is but its van gaal for me.

Could anyone see Larent Blanc being interested? Just another name im throwing out there.

He's obviously done well in French football, winning the title with Bordeaux, and now again with PSG(not difficult with then I know) but his performances at Bordeaux where impressive, they don't have a massive budget, and it was somewhat of a shock him winning the title with them. He also topped a CL group with Bordeaux which contained Juventus and Bayern, that's pretty impressive stuff if you ask me.

He's obviously continued the good work of Ancelotti at PSG, and was maybe a little unfortunate to go out to Chelsea in the CL on the away goals rule. There are a lot of big players at PSG, on big money, so plenty of egos that he has to deal with, so that's another box ticked.

He's a former player of ours too, even if it was only a brief spell, so why not? He could be the perfect man for the job. Id imagine he would be quite happy to leave PSG for a big PL club, as French football is fairly boring in comparison to the PL:biggrin:

Carvalho and rumour is someone from PSG...Lucas?

btw something ppl who want Klopp may like....

"Everything has been said, very few of it actually by me, but put as if I had said it."

"..to reject something when there is no enquiry, it is rather embarrassing for me as a human being."

He is still definitely in the mix <ok>

I think he's interested deep down, he just doesn't wanna risk upsetting his Dortmund players who still have a cup final this season. If our board want him, they need to get in contact with him secretly and find out if he would be interested. If so we can approach Dortmund directly after the German Cup final

I honestly don't know enough about Blanc as a manager :( I do have a bad impression of him in my mind from his time at Monaco, but that was years ago.

Scrap that, I'm thinking of Deschamps <doh> <laugh>

Hope it's not him, we're rumoured to be after Cavani though.

No idea if truth be told.

Anyone also heard that Giggs and Class of 92 aren't apparently favouring Mata. They think he's too slow and doesn't suit United's style. I hope to **** that is bollox. The guy is world class.

He never managed or played for Monaco, you must be thinking of someone else. Club wise he's only managed Bordeaux and PSG. He also managed the French national team, where he didn't do to badly in his 2 years there, they won there qualifying group for the Euros and only went out in the knockout stages to eventual winners Spain. So no disgrace there

No Larry white for me. French league is the french league after all.

Interesting from klopp. Almost reads as a 'like **** I would say no' quote.

I'd be happy with klopp. Though I do think there is a slight risk with him, having not managed outside of German football, never had a big budget, not managed so called superstars with massive ego's. I think if they were to give him the job he should be given time as he clearly has a style of play and would need time to build the side and mould the team to his style..

He would be my long term choice.

Ancellotti and Van Gaal as short term fixes.
