Or we could watch what he actually does on the pitch :emoticon-0148-yes:

Ross McCormack said Aluko was the best player in the Championship and I completely agree. He has then come into the Premier league and played the same way, doing very well if you actually watch football rather than blindly following stats.

Completely agree. He's been a shadow of the player who looked brilliant when he first came to us in the Championship. He appears to be confused what to do when in possession, he hardly ever beats his man when attacking, he's completely selfish with the ball, takes aimless shots from poor positions, and never looks for an open man. I don't think its a matter of fitness or "getting up to speed". He seems to have lost all confidence and has contributed virtually nothing since his return to the side. Right now Fryatt is a much better option up front.

Seen as he plays...he knows more than you. Also, don't you think the Leeds defence might have said a thing or two to Ross.

can't understand anyone getting at aluko he is a quality footballer and one of few we have can make something happen , to quote our very own manager he gets bums out of seats when he is on the ball , get a full pre-season behind him and he will thrive again and feature more often than not

Id quite happily let Aluko go if someone bid over £5 for him. There's no doubt he's a talented lad but he's too injury prone and because of that we'll probably never see him reach his full potential.

I'd rank him as our third best player if he could stay fit.

Obviously that's a big if given his injury record for us but those dismissing his ability bewilder me. He's had about 3/4 sub appearances where he didn't do a lot having been out for around 6 months, what do you expect?

He changed the game in the semi-final, I'd say it was Aluko (along with the change of shape) that was the main reason we turned that game on it's head.

No one is dismissing Aluko's ability. It's his ability to stay fit that concerns some of us. Fully fit he is a great asset to the club so lets hope he can get back to his best next season if not the remainder of this.

He's been called worse than Frazier Campbell, a 'passenger', 'not able to cut the mustard at this level', likened to Cameron Stewart and someone remarked that they couldn't remember Aluko creating any openings. I think some are questioning his ability.

Well then fair enough, but 'No one is dismissing Aluko's ability' suggested otherwise...

Are you drugged up? He's coming back from injury for heavens sake. When he's fit he's one of the best attack minded players I've seen in a city shirt for years. He is definitely better than Campbell (also a completely different type of player), and he also definitely capable of playing premier league football; which will be proven if we are stupid enough to sell him.

I think the change of shape and taking 'lost George' and 'aimless Figueroa' off did most of the damage to a SU team that were shell-shocked within a short period of the second half start. The job Aluko was asked to do against a L1 team was not overly demanding in the circumstances. Aluko is a good player in a poor vein of form and that cameo should be kept in perspective; until his form improves, in the PL, he really ain't that good.

Bruce, and to be fair, the owners, are being very shrewd in talking up players and offering contracts - they learnt the lessons of Ratner. I hope Aluko finds his way on the pitch, just as I hope Fryatt keeps improving, but truth be told, they both have a way to go.

Don't have any - happy days.

regardless of their L1 status, Aluko came on and played well against the same shelf Utd that the whole team struggled against in the first half.
