You only have to listen to how many non-English speaking 'supporters' you hear in the Ellerslie pretty much every home game to know that this is an important topic for the club. - We have a loyal but small fan base - We are the most convenient club for London tourists to visit (hopefully still true in Old Oak assuming Cross Rail is completed on time) - Tourists are very keen to see English football but can rarely get into the 'big' London clubs. All of this means that with the right marketing we have the ideal opportunity to requularly fill a 35-40k stadium while building a bigger home grown fan base. The club would be nuts not to focus on this area - whether or not that means we need a neutral area is another matter but does need to considered. Of course, its up to us regulars to make sure there is still an atmosphere...
They won t mate...ill guarantee it.the stresses on structures such as grounds (not only football) are subject to "certain rules" my other QLD mate will happilly tell you about "bending moments around bi-metalic structures" at some time There is no way we could design a 30K stadium for the prem aiming to host Citeh, Scummer etc fans shoved away in the top loft Not only would they embarese us, but destroy our stadium, reputation and any chance of hospitality we have Yhe Stadium design is complete..of that i am sure...Just ashamed that TF did this to our supporters.. FYI.Im a massive TF fan,,but his is an insult in my opinion IMO
I had an oap Chinese couple in front of me, they didn't speak a word of English. The guy was clapping along to certain songs, even did a slow wave to the away fans when we scored the winner as others were doing. He had a great time, that wouldn't have happened in a neutral end which often just becomes a bigger away end anyway. I don't see a way they can do it without the survey seeming a shame as no one will want it.
I think we need a neutral family singing area as part of our oval 45.000 seater(with room to add )stadium
Good PR and a decent survey. No mention of a roof, mistake in my opinion, would make us unique and a much more flexible venue.
NEW STADIUM SURVEY: QPR invite fans to have their say prior to initial designs of New Stadium I think they should build it closer to us .................. like, on the east coast of Australia! Cheaper land costs. Less rain. Warmer weather. Air Asia can fly the team in, along with European fan base. We can all adjourn to the Pig & Whistle after the game.
