http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/apr/24/elderly-care-outstrip-relatives-ippr-2030 Lots of old people coming on to the market, lots of expensive health care keeping them alive, lots of carers allowances, lots of care home costs, lots of increasing DLA payments because these people are genuinely incapable of working, lots of beeling Tobys crying without actually having a solution, lots of Tories crying because they don't want young productive brown people flooding the country. So how do we fix this situation then? I'm probably going to be old eventually, it's looking ominous.
Mick the Mick . Always talking about how rich he is he is such a bore . Why not leave not606 for a wile , so we can have a Mick famine . famine . Your Irish to . no surrender to the u . f. h
You're Irish and 29 Mick. It's unlikely you have more years ahead of you than behind you. Kill yourself
There's a lot of scary stuff in that report - with undoubtedly the scariest being the mention of 2030 as it dawned on me that, if i'm unlucky enough to still be alive, I will be 60 that year
Problem is that when people clamour for healthier living, increased rates of recovery from diseases like Cancer, banning smoking etc etc. they forget that soemwhere along the line someone will have to pay for people living longer. In future if you want life saving treatment you should have to demonstarte that you're able to afford to live into your 90s and pay for your own care. If you can't you shouldn't get it.* * yes i'm taking the piss.
I agree ... the really rich! Not some **** that earns £45K+ Should be a 3 tier tax system... the 45p rate should kick in at a lot higher (80/90k)
When we were doing Modern Studies in 2nd year, you had to pair up and create a political party before giving a mock party conference to the class followed b mock elections. My mate Dave and I started the D.A.N.C.E Party, which was for Compulsory Euthanasia for people who reach 80. I really think there's an opportunity there for us now, even if we didn't win it in 2nd year.
45p tax is £150k+, 40p tax is about 44k(?)+. But you're right that 40p tax is incredibly uncompetitive vs a lot of other countries. You can't just bluntly up tax to pay for elderly care either, as people could just run off to jurisdictions which have lots of younger people, less old people and a smaller tax burden (such as Ireland).
If it's all right to cull badgers I fail to see the issue with culling people. Most of them wouldn't know what was happening anyway..
Or to pay for an escape route from the dystopian future in which I rule and all the elderly, ******s and huns are executed on sight, in which vegetarians have no place in society, and where the only escape from this is to do a speedy.
This is the real point though. People spend all the time moaning about how bad this is, how that's ruining their lives etc. when, in reality, if it's that bad there is a very easy solution to it.
All the bastards vote though - there will be no culling or Speedys, they will just vote in a Greytopia.
