Maybe... just maybe Another factor that may help (should we beat Chelsea) is that City play after us.. 9pt gap again with 12 to play for will heap even more pressure on them, if they're missing the likes of Toure and Silva (and Aguero not being 100% fit either) could lead to a tough game at Palace, should they drop points there, we could win the league on MNF! But to be on safe side... #nojinx #superstitiousoldfart
I think sunday is one hurdle but if everton can drop points at palace we can but i would like city to do so first. I think chelsea will be Schwarzer Ivanovic-Luiz-Cahill-cole Schurrle-lampard-Mikel-Salah Van ginkel Ba my question would be is matic cup tied?
Matic is cup tied, he'll def. play, prob. in place of Mikel And he'll play Willian (or Oscar if Willian is more nailed onto start in the 2nd leg) instead of Van Ginkel, play a 4-2-3-1... If Hazard is 50/50, he'll most likely not risk him against us and keep him for fresh for the 2nd leg. So a team of... Schwarzer Ivanoivc - Luiz - Cahill - Cole Lampard - Matic Schurrle - Oscar - Salah Ba Is far from weak!
Best attacking team in the premiership versus the PL's best defense. Should be an interesting game -- although Terry, Cech and Hazard are massive misses for Chelsea. This is a massive game for us. Possibly our season defining game. I hope the boys give it their all, as they have been doing all season!
The importance of this game cannot be over stated,a little worried about C.Palace after their remarkable run of form and we should be ok v Newcastle at Anfield. But this Chelsea game is the one where we have to prove our worth.
We just need to win it. City play both Palace and Everton before we play Palace. If we drop any points, I would bet they would go and beat them both, putting huge pressure on us against Palace. Also, as for Newcastle on the last day, they are so sh!t that they have a good result in there somewhere. We need to wrap things up asap.
Its frustrating that people are stating to think that Liverpool are dead certs for the title. The fact remains that City are only 3 points behind if they win their game in hand and you only have to look at the 2011/12 season to see how much ground can be made up. The Chelsea game is such a tough fixture, Mou is doing his usually mind game attempts and will no doubt put a strong, defensive team out against us.
If we win this then we can really sit back and enjoy the next week and hope City's 2 tough away games take their toll and they drop points. If they draw 1 game they can only then get to 84 points which (if we have already beaten Chelsea) would need us to pick up 2 points from the final 2 games to win the league. Let's d the job on Sunday then hope City can ease the pressure on us a bit by messing up.
I wouldn't say Liverpool are Dead Certs for the title. We definitely are not. I would say it is a two horse race now between City and Liverpool... Chelsea are the Chihuahuas now. Liverpool certainly are in the driving seat- but dropping points against Chelsea would definitely shift the momentum back to City and make it a very scary finish. If we beat Chelsea, I can see City losing more points before the season ends. If we drop points against Chelsea then City will get that self-belief and motivation back.
Justice http://www.thefa.com/news/governance/2014/apr/ramires-rui-faria-charged-230414 The FA has charged three members of Chelsea’s staff following their fixture against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on 19 April 2014. Chelsea midfielder Ramires has been charged for violent conduct following an off-the-ball incident that was not seen by the match officials but caught on video. Ramires was involved in an incident with Sunderland’s Sebastian Larsson in the 42nd minute of the fixture. In the Premier League, if an incident has not been seen by the match officials, a three-man panel of former elite referees will be asked by The FA to review it and advise what, if any, action they believe the match referee should have taken had it been witnessed at the time. In this case the panel were unanimous that it was an act of violent conduct. Ramires has until 6pm on Thursday 24 April to respond to the charge. Further to that, assistant manager Rui Faria has been charged with two counts of misconduct. It is alleged that in the 83rd minute of the fixture, Faria used abusive and/or insulting words towards the Fourth Official. It also alleged that Faria’s behaviour following the match referee’s request that he leave the technical area amounted to improper conduct. The FA has designated this as a non-standard case due to the aggressive and/or threatening and/or serious nature of the reported behaviour. Faria has until 6pm on Monday 28 April to respond to the charge. Mourinho has been charged with misconduct in respect of post-match comments he made following the fixture. It is alleged that Mourinho’s comments constitute improper conduct, in that they call into question the integrity of the referee appointed to the above fixture and/or the integrity of Mr Mike Riley, General Manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited, and/or the comments bring the game into disrepute. Mourinho has until 6pm on Monday 28 April to respond to the charge.
The only attitudes that you should be worrying about are those of Rodgers and the players. The rest count for nothing. Of course maureen is playing games but Rodgers should be using that to his advantage. He should tell the team that Maureen thinks a 2nd rate Chelsea side is good enough to beat the at Anfield - that should fire them up!!
Misconduct charge come in time for him to miss the game against us? Good player mind but recently more worried about the damage he could to our players with his flying elbows and lovely timed tackles..
When Ramires was subbed off at half time against Swansea he avoided picking up a 10th yellow card that would have seen him banned from the Liverpool game. But he has still managed to miss the game and get himself suspended for the fourth time this season for his premeditated assualt on Larsson. Mourinho picked up his third charge of the season after implying in his post-match interview that referee boss Mike Riley wanted teams in the title race to be treated differently than others. First team coach Rui Faria is developing nicely with two charges for the season for going absolutely mental and narrowing avoiding being sectioned. Of course it all remains the fault of officials and opponents with no mistakes having ever been made by Chelsea players or staff. #stayclassy
