Yes because the club should've handled his sacking a lot better in my opinion.

No he should have been sacked before the turn of the year so he can think himself very lucky he was at United and not elsewhere because any other club would have sacked him months ago.

cant read the article as I am in work but it will be the standard statement in this situation. Thank you to the club, the players, the staff, Sir Alex, proud of my time bla bla bla....... he wouldnt have written it thats for sure.

    Someone post the article.

He was given more time than anyone else would have been and hes getting a nice pay off.

My heart bleeds. The ****ing humanity. Bollocks to starving people and those is war zones. Moyes was sacked harshly while having United in 7th, spending 65million and calling everyone ****....

David Moyes has thanked Sir Alex Ferguson for giving him the chance to manage Manchester United.
In his first public statement since his dismissal on Tuesday, Moyes said he wished the club well for the future.
"To have been appointed as manager of Manchester United was and remains something of which I will always be incredibly proud," said the Scot.
"I remain grateful to Sir Alex for believing in my ability and giving me the chance to manage United."
Nevertheless, BBC Sport understands Moyes is livid about the way his exit was handled.
Intense speculation surfaced on Monday afternoon that the 50-year-old was going to be sacked, but it was not until a meeting with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward on Tuesday morning that Moyes discovered his fate.
"The LMA is very disappointed with the nature of David's departure from Manchester United and to read extensive reports in the press, confirming David's sacking, before David himself had been spoken to officially by the club," said League Managers' Association chief executive Richard Bevan.
"Throughout his time at United, David, as he always does, has conducted himself with integrity and professionalism, values that he believes in and that have been strongly associated with the club and its rich tradition. It is therefore sad to see the end of David's tenure at United being handled in an unprofessional manner."

Just read it on the BBC.

As I said, standard stuff bar the moaning about how it was handled.

i agree it was handled poorly. He should have got a text saying 'Moysey, ya **** at ya job so Giggs is taking charge You couldnt even beat ****ing everton'

"Dear David here is your P45 and also enclosed is a cheque for £5 million, could you kindly drop the keys to the company car, Ryan's office and the trophy room off at the ticket office.

    Yours, MUFC."

Mourinho 2014 would probably be more appropriate.

In retrospect he couldn't cope with the expectation and it was right to sack him. But I still maintain that the players did not do their job and should have acted with more professionalism and do what they are being paid for i.e give 100% whether they like the manager or not. Disappointed in them...<ok>

I think it's clear moyes didn't meet expectations and probably had to go. The manner in which it was done by utd was disgraceful though. The players as well come off looking very bad, not just ability wise but as you say their attitude.

Ha ha, you jumped the gun somewhat there!!

I think what he said is fair enough, he doesn't slag anyone off and alludes to it being a privilege and, reading between the lines, a bit too much of a job for him to handle. I think it's a good statement, good on him.

United, being United, on the other hand, come out of the whole thing stinking like **** but that's just par for the course with them.

SFIP. The Manager you really want doesn't exist anymore, it is time to lower your sights and rebuild with someone that you can learn and grow with together. It may take a little while, but with a little patience, you will be great again, I am convinced of that. Pochettino is not the right man for the job either. I have a nasty feeling that "new manager syndrome" will cost us the last game of the season, it keeps happening to us! Giggsy will be a better player motivator than Moyes and I forecast some good reaction from them and a decent run off to the Season. Good luck.

When I found out that he would be paid only one year compensation if he missed the CL, his fate was sealed. The GGs would have baulked at paying him the whole length of his contract. The ****ing GGs made sure that the length of his contract was meaningless if he failed in the first year...<ok> He could have had a 10 year contract but it would have meant **** all.

Nothing classy about Moyes telling Utd fans they aspire to be as good as City
    Should've sacked him then

Well yes, but this is obvious really. You can't hand someone a contract without there being minimum targets within it, that would be commercial suicide.

Moyes hasn't done badly out of what is a very poor experiment gone wrong. He's ****ed up himself many times during his ten moths and, as PPLF say above, he really should have been dismissed for saying we aspire to be like City. Or for presiding over a team that did literally **** all in preventing Liverpool walk away with six points.

The only thing that saved him then was the win over Olympiakos but once we'd rolled over to be bummed by City for a second time he should have packed his bags.
