Can't argue that but you had a manager who knew what he was doing and knew how to manage the likes of Rooney, RVP, Vidic, Ferdinand, how to use Valencia or Nani properly etc. There ( probably disagree with me on this one) was an aura about United up until this year. Teams were afraid of you and afraid of OT. We used to have that back in the days of Dave and Saint and the like but we only now are starting to get that feeling back where teams are losing before even stepping on the pitch. In those 4 years prior, you could see teams scared ****less to play against you lot! They would sit back and just let you ****ing pound them at times!
Your squad is full of awful players that were made look good by bacon face. Its no use having a massive squad when it consists of muck like Bebe, Cleverly and Phil Jones. You need CR7 to come home more than ever.
Are these on loan the answer though? Some of them are on loan as they are not good enough, others not ready for the first team. Can rely on loanees really. You need signings, the sort you need is the only thing up for debate. Our clubs are in the same boat really, both need to spend. All thats up for debate is the amount and type of players.
We were pot 1 and got a fairly comfortable draw. yours is likely to be erm.... different.......very different. You would be facing the best 4 the same time you might face an english side.... if you are lucky.
Do you kno2w. Huge losses in recent years, no CL revenue for 5 years.... Bet your flush with cash..... or not. Yeh, I doubt your going to spend much more that 30-50million this summer. which wont be enough. Burnley FC spent 400k in the last 18 months...... do you think they will be spending small amount this summer and expecting to stay up? No. They wont be think and believe because they had a good season everything is ok.... Seems that what you guys are doing. Please carry on
think its luck of the draw personally, i get the seeding crap and what pot you are in, but didn't arsenal just have 2 very hard teams ( i know one was napoli cant remember other) and they was the seeded team, so can work both ways.
Put a van Gaal in charge or a Klopp and we will discuss at the end of next season. Im looking forard to van gaal as hes known to have his defense sit back and lure the opponent forward in order to create space. Many teams in the first half of the season will come at us and that could well be beneficial to us and van Gaals style of play.... Im excited for next season.
Im not wumming btw. Ive been the first to admit how good you have been but anyone thinking its a smooth road ahead is mental and naive. It'll be fun though. United/Liverpool title race is exactly what english football needs.
Facing the best 4? Even if we're pot 3, we'd only have a tough draw in pot 1 and possibly 2. Who knows what kind of group we'd get. None of us are thinking of winning the thing next year anyway. Next year will be more a case of being solid, possibly getting out the group and then making sure we challenge top 4/title again next year and become a regular in the CL again before pushing for further.
Can see it being van gaal simply for the RVP effect as well. We will see, still think you will make some good signings and look to roar back up. Going to be tight. Think it is time for Arsenal to slip out of the top 4 for a bit, then Chelsea. .
Who is saying it will be smooth? Just have to look at us to show what a year can do ( and you too, and spurs for that) whether you buy players, lose players, change of managers, etc. Agree on the second sentence though. Been a long long time ( consistently, we had 09 but you had a freak end of season form if I remember right).
Please copy and paste the commiment from your owners to actually spend. As for our loses. Now I don't want to be mean but you really are not equipped to understand corporate financial statements are you. It's not a put down, it just happens to be the truth. Now also try and look at the rate of growth of our commercial income over those 5 years and you may get some indication as to how we can fund our player investment. If you truly believe that United are going to fix all their problems with one spending spree UIR then you truly are sadly deluded whoever you appoint as manager.
Worked for Spurs......... Also if you lose RVP which could be likely, that is a lot of goals gone. Very hard to replace.
In all honesty the way Liverpool have played this season, at their best they're capable of beating all of these teams.
You were pants under Dalglish, Rodgers came in brought in a few new faces and you were still pants until January when he brought in Sturridge and Coutinho then you improved to finish 7th. His summer recruits have ended up being largely peripheral figures this season, but you've continued to improve off the back of largely that 1 January window and those 2 signings, plus the emergence of Sterling.
A slightly skewed interpretation of events there. But let's be honest for just 1 second. We were NOT 'pants' as you put it under Dalgliesh but we had not learnt how to make our attacking more accurate. As for Rodgers look at the players that he already had at his disposal Henderson, Flannigan, Sterling, Gerrard, Suarez (when not banned), Skrtel, Agger, all of whom have figured strongly in his development. So get it right!
**** me if reaching 2 cup finals is pants tobes ill take that, jesus christ! didn't we hold the record for hitting the ruddy woodwork as well, strange logic.
