    Well said Chief

UIR seems to think players are not responsible for their performances, unless they play for other clubs that is <doh>

I dont take money into account.

As I see it, a failing manager brings failing staff and a failing business. If my boss at work was useless and slagged us all off..... we wouldnt perform to the best of our ability.

Footballers are employees just like me or you at the end of the day.

Ive said it a million times. The manager is the most important part and if he isnt up to it, regardless of the players he has.... it wont work.

No matter what is said, no matter how people try and blame the players the fact remains a failing manager will lead a failing team.

Look around football, its the same at any club. United are no different to these clubs. Accept it and its much easier to move on.

    Indeed. Which was my point.

You've changed your point, which was originally a new boss has to come in and impress his work force before they start to pull their fingers out.
Which remains bollocks, even of they are only on ten bob a week.

Whether it's morally right or not doesn't stop it happening though.

Look at Chelsea, the 'old guard' there saw off a succession of managers that they didn't fully approve of.

The fact remains that if the players don't respect the manager from the off, then he's got major issues.

By the sounds of it the United dressing room were never having Moyes and the result is where you are now.

Oh yeah, I agree with you fully.

As such they are as culpable in this whole mess as Moyes is. Yes, Moyes was proven to be lacking but the players should have stepped up for the club and tried to help the poor ****er out.

That they didn't is to their discredit, I couldn't really care less what they've achieved before that. They are there to do their job.

I think I didnt put it across well. While I do believe the manager of anywhere should earn respect as I firmly believe it is earned and not simply given I am not surprised a manager who slagged his players off from day one ever had the respect of anyone at the club ( SAF and SBC aside ).

Therefore the fact people didnt want to play for him doesnt surprise me or concern me at all.

probably shouldnt of waltzed in, sacked the coaching staff and called everyone **** then sucked waynes stump.

I am struggling to see how anyone can defend Moyes. I fully expect him to become a right bitter **** in the coming months.

Getting rid of the backroom was a massive mistake and one I'm sure he regrets tbh.

The reported players attitude to him was predictable, given their scepticism at his perceived lack of pedigree, however, once they openly or snidely challenged his authority, he should have squashed the dissenters and either ****ed them off or stuck them in the stiffs away from the first team.

That was his error, the likes of camel gob should have been farmed out on loan somewhere out of the way.

Yup. If he had the balls he wouldnt have been in that situation.

Multi million pound football management is not for the faint hearted. Ruthlessness is essential or you will be eaten alive.

Moyes ****ed up. He should just hold his hands up and say so.

    I'm sure ultimately he will.

What is curious though is he always claimed to have Fergie's ear for advice, and said he often went to him. Surely he could have got Fergie to come down and have a word with the dissenters, by way of an open discussion so it didn't look like he was off telling teacher on them.

    Or is that too simple?

He thought he was too big for the job imo. The way he handled himself and the way he approached situations makes me think he was overly confident in his ability and didnt ask for help of nobody.

maybe if he had taken the advice of those around him, players included, then things would have been different but he decided to do it alone and this is how its ended up.

Personally I think he will blame everyone but himself in the end. hes already blamed most while he was actually the manager.

I think the players have acted disgracefully. I'd want them out the door. Openly slagging off the manager etc is just wrong. Whether you like your boss or not you do your job.

One particular comment that caught my attention was that the players or a player took issue with him reading a management book. What a ******. That for me highlights the level of stupidity that lots of football players show. Absolutely no problem with him reading management books.

I also think the club have acted disgracefully as well. Firing him with only 3 games of the season to go rather than amicably parting ways at the season end. Classless.

Your hierarchy and players have all been made to look like right ****s because of this whole moyes situation.

The minute Fergsuon stuck his head into the dressing room then the players would have known they'd won and that he had no bollocks, as he'd basically have been getting him to do his dirty work.

No, he should have been stronger and done it himself, albeit if he'd have opted for a more evolutionary approach with the existing backroom, he probably wouldn't have found himself facing so much opposition, and what there was could have been smoothed out by his colleagues.

Still, he got about £5m for his years work, plus another £5m as a payoff for his abject failure, so my heart hardly bleeds for the dour tit. Next stop the Toon <laugh>
