Barcelona will be able to buy and sell players this summer after Fifa suspended its transfer ban on the club. The 14-month ban - imposed after the Spanish club were found to have breached rules on signing minors from overseas - is on hold pending an appeal by the club. Football's world governing body said in a statement: "The chairman of the Fifa appeal committee considered that the appeal lodged by the club is to be granted suspensive effect." ****ing cowardly ****s.
It's a joke! If it was an English club, I reckon they'd uphold the ban regardless. No spine where Barcelona are concerned!
Chelsea's was reduced, but didn't they have a one window ban? Regardless, it's a piss take either way, they've done it, they've been found guilty, and they've been let off.
This was inevitable, I said from the beginning as soon as I heard about that ban that there'd be a brown envelope heading to Sepp. It's ****ing pathetic that teacher's pet Barcelona get away with everything, the only crumb of comfort I can take from it all is that so far Neymar has been absolutely ****.
This is not the first of any high profile ban or allegation related to players under the age of 18 has been made. Chelsea were initially banned for two transfer windows in 2009 after the signing of Gael Kakuta from Lens, when they were found guilty of inducing the player to breach his contract with the club. However that move was overturned when both Lens and Chelsea accepted his contract with the French club was not valid and the Blues ended up paying compensation of £113,000. There are differences apparently, and how the contract wasn't valid is beyond me. A brown packet possibly involved I reckon
Surely FIFA have set a precedent now for any club to do it. Any other club can do this now without fear of recrimination. Just one of the reasons why I hate Barcelona.
