No truth in the rumours that the leading bidder is a scot who moved from Merseyside to Manchester only last year but is currently unemployed.
Hearing the Man Utd Supporters Trust wail that the way they sacked Moyes, with neither class nor dignity, is not in keeping with the Man Utd way had me doubled over laughing. Class? Dignity? Since when???
Bale's on the bench recovering from 'flu. Should be an excellent match all the same with 2 sides setting up to play the kind of football Chelsea can only dream of.
Massive carp as usual on talk radio about ManU today. Firstly we have the unchallenged assumption that VanG will join ManU - completely forgetting the existing relationship between him and Spurs (and ignoring the fact that if he does his due diligence there's a chance he'll realise Spurs need fewer players than ManU and may actually be in better shape!)... complete disrespect to Spurs but also completely expected. We then have the discussion about where Moyes team has failed compared to Fergie. Every conceivable option considered - that is every conceivable footballing related option (players, tactics, morale etc) thus completely ignoring the number of points that Fergie got effectively by intimidating the refs! This must however never be mentioned. On one hand you have them saying that Scholes would be associated with Giggs coaching team and how great that would be, yet all I can think about is how many red cards Scholes didn't get that he deserved - have they forgotten that his tackling was effectively held to a different standard to everyone else, so when he went in for a leg breaker instead of the standard rants we got "ha ha, it's only Scholes and we know he can't tackle"...
I get your irritation but Van G has been tarting himself about for months and in my opinion has used spurs to draw out attention from united and possibly arsenal...don't think he was ever interested in joining us
Exactly. LVG has a very high opinion of himself - maybe that's justified. But, like you, I don't like the way he's been tarting himself around, looking for the PL club that he feels best suits his status.
Bizarre game tonight. Bayern have all the possession, all the territory, but Real have the goal. And, to be honest, with better finishing could be 3 up!...
Because IMO posession is no good unless you do something with it. I am glad to see Real in the lead, IMO it's good for football. I really can't stand watching this Guardiola style for me he has ruined Bayern when you compare the exciting football they were playing with this netball stuff now. The all time one trick pony.
Again ... Possession is nine tenths of the law. Putting the ball in the net is 100% of the score. Has the last 2 CL campaigns for Barca not taught Pep this ??
Robben really should've scored too. It's the different ways to play on show at the moment. Real attacking with pace and power whilst Bayern look to out think and out manoeuvre on the attack. I fancied Real before the game but despite them taking the lead I think Bayern are going to wear them down from what I've seen so far. The difference so far has been in the defences, Real have done a very good job there with Alonso and Modric helping out whilst Bayern have defended naively.
