Just wanted to let you guys know, I've quit my job and starting up a new job in May 2014...

Wish me luck with my job interview, personally I'm not going to even consider the job unless I get at least 130m to spend in the summer and they promise a better mousepad than the lame one Moyes had to make do with.

Don't want Simeone. Ancelotti will get sacked if he does not win la liga or CL this season.

He won't be sacked after a year, don't forget he has already got the Copa Del Rey in the bag, so even if that isn't the main trophy Madrid want that will have bought him atleast another year:biggrin:

Don't you think that the choice (or lack of) available to United shows there's little point in sacking Ancelotti??? I'm pretty sure the Copa win beating Barca in the final as well as finishing above Barca will be enough to get another season.

One thing I haven't read being mentioned is what bad timing this is as far as the best managers being available.

I'm coming round to Van Gaal. He's being given a lot of credit for sorting the systems and infrastructure and setting the foundations at Barca and Bayern which has led to both those clubs recent success. Imagine he does that at United and even if he leaves after a couple of seasons, the timing may be better for some of the other top managers (especially Klopp or Pep) becoming available and having a club ready to take over. Van Gaal also plays football in the right manner and his style would suit us.

    Interesting point about van Gaal.

barcelona - went and revamped their acadamy. Barcelona won the title and he promoted some of their best ever players ( iniesta, Xavi, Puyol etc etc ). After kleaving Barcelona continued to use their acadamy as shown by van Gaal...... have a look at Spainish football...... need I say more.

Bayern - as above. Almost identical.... now look at German football.

Not only United that would benefit but possibly England as well?

Clearly I have gone too fast for you, thicky.

I was merely pointing out that Manchester United have nothing to temp Klopp with, including the stadium.

He has said as much today at a press conference... "Klopp is not going to Manchester United"

    Clear enough for you? :)

Chuck some more insults if it appeases you from your impotent internet rage! :emoticon-0109-kiss:

Then the things you were pointing out were wrong. United have many things to tempt Klopp away from Dortmund but he is well known for honouring his contracts once signed which i think is a very good trait.

Klopp is still a possibility if you ask me, he's hardly going to say he's interested when he has no idea if Man Utd are genuinely interested in him. He still wants to have a job at Dortmund if we aren't interested. I'd imagine though if we wanted him and pushed hard enough we could get him.

I think it is a 3 horse race at the moment, between Van Gaal, Simeone and Klopp. I have a slight preference for Van Gaal, though il be happy with either of them:biggrin:

Yeh you're right. He basically said it was nothing to do with Manchester United, but more about his ties to Dortmund. Putting it into context, he would have made the exact same statement for any club interested in him (with the possible exception of Real Madrid) so it was irrespective of what United or any other club has to offer.

Maybe one day we'll get Klopp :(

I do admire his loyalty though i have no idea how he expects to compete with Bayern. Perhaps an extremely lucrative contract would be persuasive enough...

Whoever we get, what I said in January still applies: it will get worse before it gets better. We haven't reached the bottom yet.

    Fair point.

But why have Klopp and Guardiola turned down United for a second time in 12 months, after Carlo and Jose said they were only interested in Real and Chelsea last season.<whistle>

At least we now know why Jose allegedly cried when Moyesy got the United job.

They were tears of laughter <ok>

    Thicky?

    Brilliant.

If you honestly think that Manchester United hold no appeal to any manager in the world then you truly are special.

Of course United hold appeal for all footballers and managers, just not as much as Real, Barca, Bayern currently; City and PSG financially; and Chelsea locationally
