.....why not have a go at doing it again? http://www.theguardian.com/football...manchester-united-manager?CMP=EMCNEWEML6619I2
I hope Van Gaal gets it. He pisses so many people off - it would almost be like appointing Roy Keane and standing back as the fireworks go off.
Agree - it sounds like they're after Ancelotti, but Van Gaal is such a nasty barsteward, it'd serve the arrogant prats right to get him.
I really, really hope Giggs does well enough to land the job, and when it inevitably goes tits up, let's see what the fans do. It'll be like Dalglish at Liverpool the other year, they won't DARE to slag him off.
They've already announced that he won't being considered for the full time job, they'll not be making the same mistake again and will only appoint someone with Champions League experience.
I reckon that's so, but the ideal candidate will be one who can handle the huge pressure of the financial interests as well. Interests such as Abramovich, the Glazers, Sheik Ya Booty and their ilk. Ancelotti is in the frame for this reason.
The problem for Man Utd is that while the other two are benefactors pouring money in, the Glazers are sucking it out (to pay the interest).
I'm actually gutted about this. Giggs, scholes and the like will have them playing with freedom and confidence. It's an easy 3 points pissed down the drain due to the FA cup semi pissing finals. It would have to bite us in the bloody flaming arse wouldn't it.
