If he chose Moyes, I say let him do it! Remember: third time is a charm! <ok>

Somebody has to choose the new man and if its left to Woodward and the Glazers Utd might end up with Moyes MarkII.

Yeah, when the job was up for grabs last time(before Moyes was announced as the boss)Charlton said things about Mourinho that indicated he'd had an input into appointing Moyes.

Why the hell should sir alex choose the next manager ???? I like sir alex and i admire that he has been one of the best managers of all time but what qualifies him to decide who should be the next man utd manager,,, He chose moyes for f**k sake and that never worked out for the boards liking, Myself i think they have made a big mistake sacking moyes so early in his 6 year contract and should have given him more time than that for taking over a very successful club as united. Moyes is not the loser here as he has made a fortune anyway and even though he will be disappointed he has earned more money that you or i can only dream about. Well its done now and united must take their time in appointing the next manager and with respect to sir alex he should not have a say or demand who the next manager should be...

I want Van Gaal as our new manager, he's on the shortlist.

Fergie is rumoured to favour his good friend Guus Hiddink.

Fergie will be part of the decision making and rightly so. Ahhhh if only any of us had made no mistakes in life then perhaps we could slate Fergie. Or here's a thought, imagine if any of us had made as few mistakes as Fergie, while being just as successful? It smacks of fickleness to suddenly forget this guy's exceptional judgement and management far outweighs any mistakes he's made. So lets have a bit of perspective here. Fergie should have some say as he is on the board. That doesn't mean he decides or has the final say, and nor should he. But he should be part of the process.

I'd love Guus Hiddink, but he's 67 now, 5 years older than Van Gaal. I can't really see him wanting to run a club day to day at his age, I think he prefers the international scene as it's a lot less work.

If he did want to come though, I wouldn't have a problem with his age, because I don't buy that we need a manager for longevity, if he comes in for 3 years I'll be happy with that. This whole longevity thing is overrated, as very few if any big clubs in Europe have longevity with there managers. SAF was a one off, he wasn't the norm. Lots of clubs change there managers regularly and still have success

He's still younger than Fergie and could obviously learn a lot at OT under Fergie's wing.<whistle>
