It's pretty simple, the club have put a meaty release clause in Suarez' new contract, If Real meet it (perhaps throw in Benzema) then he'll leave. It'll have to be a deal worth in excess of £80 million. And, to be honest, we would deal with that. And we can now attract the right players to the club.

If Real don't meet the clause, they can f**k off. As we told Arsenal too. Suarez would sulk, but ultimately - as he did this season - he would just deal with it and continue to play. And play well.

I also don't believe Real can afford him, even through player sales, especially with ffp looming. They found Bale hard enough and pleaded with Levy to allow them to pay for him in "instalments".

  2. The other scenario is that, next season, Goofy will be found out, and his form will plummet, as RVP's has.

That's possible, especially if he's denied his dream move to Real. Then, season after next, he'll go for peanuts to Juve, or suchlike.

Oh no. You couldn't be more wrong.
Once they have turned their target, they make a lower offer, or the high demand to be paid in
the instalment plan they see fit. This is why the unsettling torrent is so crucial to them.

We don't know what the conditions of Suarez staying and then signing a new contract were. It was certainly a miraculous turnaround and unlikely to do with Rodgers' chat with him, perhaps he was given promises about leaving.

I agree that I don't think it will happen this summer. Knowing Real they'll find away to be able to afford him if they need. I can see Benzema going to Monaco or PSG with the speculation that Falcao and Cavani may move in the summer and that would free up immediate funds. Also, as I understand it, when you sign a player is an asset of that value which depreciates over the life of the contract. So if Benzema has been at the club for the length of his original contract then selling him may give them an instant sale of asset profit of say £30mill and if they give Suarez a contract of 5 years then it starts to look affordable. I'm not entirely sure whether it works that way but I'm sure the accounting bods at Real could bend the rules enough somehow.

It would be a total pisstake for FFP if Real broke the record transfer fee two years running though.

Funny how all of a sudden your club is honouring clauses in your players contracts. They certainly didn't when Arsenal activated Suarez's buy-out clause last summer.

As for FFP, you have completely misrepresented the situation while missing the point. Firstly it's not just the Bale transfer that's paid in installments, any of their larger transfer fees are (i.e. Modric, Isco, Illarramendi) Secondly, they worked out FFP years ago and are skirting it. For example, rather than say they paid £25m in one lump sum for AN Other player, their creative accounting says they are paying £4.16m for the player. Thus far UEFA have not raised any issue with this quite obvious exploitation of a loophole, so unless they raise concerns about it before August 31st there's no reason to think that you'll be receiving £13.2m every year for the next six years.

I find that highly unlikely. Surely their sports hacks are too preoccupied with hating Spurs to have the energy to hate any other club.

The exact contents of Sewerez`s new contract are unknown except by the people that matter, so stating there is a meaty release clause is pure speculation by you, the media and others on here. No club will cough up anywhere near £80m for a 27.5 year old, realistically £40m - £50m would be fair.

You will find if Real Madrid come knocking, Goofy will be demanding a transfer quicker than he falls to the floor in the penalty area, you will not be able to tell Real to just Fack Off and they will find the money.

Also, believing you can now `attract the right players to the club` will not be as straight forward as you think, players follow the money, so unless Cheaterpool are willing to outbid other clubs on wages (whilst actively trying to reduce their wage bill) they will be in a similar position to last season. There is a pecking order for players in order of who pays the most, being in the CL or being a famous name will not come into it.

As you should know from Suits, the Arsenal thing doesn't matter anymore... our lawyers won <laugh>

Unless we get a mental offer, Henry will tell Madrid where to go. You can trust him that much. He understand's Suarez's worth to the club.

A player that like doesn't get found out. He has too much in his locker - unlike a pretty one dimensional player like RVP.

Sounds like a lose lose situation for us. Madrid pay big money for him and he goes, or we hold onto him and he struggles to get double figures. What is your advice hiag? Just sit back and accept mediocrity with borespurzz?

Given the 2009-13 seasons, you are already very much conditioned for exactly that.

RVP has so much to offer, not least the entertainment value when he does this...

Ok congratulations on your last 4 seasons, but since Spurs last title win which club has been more mediocre for the longest period?

I was going to make it since our last title win but that goes without saying, during our mediocrity we've never been relegated, we've won many cups and we've even been Champions of Europe.

I'd take our mediocrity over yours any day.<whistle>

We've never got the whole country banned from Europe or been caught match fixing, though.
    Also, Littlewoods.
