Is it me but why were there so many City fans wearing joint Norwich City and Liverpool scarves?

Why on earth would you want to wear another teams colours?

If it was the Champions league or something I.e a one off like Poulton Rovers as a souvenir I get it, but why Liverpool? The spivs must have made a fortune!

Shame on those who did that. Wear your teams colours only!!

Don't put us down, they were all Liverpool fans wanting to share our glory.

I remember this from the 1980's when it was possible to buy an NCFC scarf with Heart of Midlothian/Celtic/Rangers/Dundee Utd and god knows who else. Very odd, although I did get the Hearts one as I have always followed them from my time living oop north, and still have a soft spot for them today.

I bought a Celtic top once, dunno why, I can't stand them now, think it was because it had green stripes.

I also bought a dutch top, I actually wanted the Argentina one but none of the shops were selling them in 88. Even now I find there is something a bit magical about the Argentina strip.

There were a load of sellers with them before the game. Don't know why any Norwich fan would have wanted one. Don't know why any Liverpool fan would want one for that matter.

Could it have been something to do with showing support for the 96? It's the first time we've played them since the anniversary!

I think it was more aimed at city supporters who have Liverpool as there second team.
There were several people around me that we're wearing them, mostly woman & kids.
I can understand it as my youngest supported Liverpool until I started taking him to CR.

I could understand wanting one if it was a special occasion - like a rare opponent in Europe, or if it was the day the PL title was secured. If you bought a scarf with half Norwich, half Sunderland from the League Cup we won that would be pretty awesome, because it wouldn't just be a Norwich scarf, it would be a scarf from that day.

But a Norwich-Liverpool scarf in a relatively inconsequential match in the grand scheme of things doesn't really make sense to me <confused>

Rare indeed! I've still got a Bayern Munich scarf I swapped with a German fan on 3/11/1993, just tp prove the 'rarity' of it all <ok> <laugh>
