i dont get that . Fancy their chances away , when they cant score in 96 mins at home ? To use the argument that the Chavs will have to come out and play , well , that also means that A Madrid will have to be a bit more cautions themselves , they cancel themselves out. I think they NEEDED to win tonite because Chavs WILL do them at the bridge . Unfortunately.
Also let's not forget that the Chavs have been beaten by Sunderland, Palace, and Villa recently. They have also lost Lampard, Terry, Mikel and Cech for the second leg. Personally I think Althetico will beat them next weds as the Chavs will be expected to come out and play and that will suit Athletico.
Chelski's home record is gone now. Atletico have nothing to fear. Draw suits them best. Fancy them to score against the chavs more than the other way round, actually. Anyway, we'll see.
Not really. Madrid can play on the counter and be secure on the break without having to park the bus like Chavs. I watched them all season, and their back four in exceptional. The Chelsea defence on the other needs the full protection in front of them and their full backs hardly ever attack. This is a team that beat Real Madrid at the Bernabéu this season with the a classic away performance. I think today they were a bit too cautious purely cause of the away goal and therefore did not go all out.
Chelsea never had a perfect home record in the UCL, so the league loss isn't a big deal in terms of home invincibility, the undefeated streak was only in the league, and not all competitions.
Also the Chavs can't pack the midfield like they did today. Lampard and Mikel banned and if Terry is injured, then Luiz has to play as a CB.
They have lot's of other capable midfielders to come in, Oscar, Hazard, Shurle however you spell his name. Luiz doesn't have to move to CB, Ivanovic can just fill in CB for Terry.
None of those can defend like they ones that are banned, Mikel was immense today. If Chelsea open up, then it's advantage Madrid. Chelsea do not have the fire power in attack (**** forwards) to really blow away Madrid, and Jose knows that, hence his game plan today.
Torres is dog ****. Oscar has been out of form for ages. Hazard is still not fit and might not even play. Schurrle has been hit and miss this season. Only Hazrad out of that lot can pose real problems to that immense Madrid defence.
Yeah right. Unlike Costa he did not have play against a nine man defence. Torres actually had some space to run into and was awful nearly every time he got it. He is so bad it's untrue. The best bit was when Luiz had the ball and instead of making a run, which Luiz was pointing for, he ran towards him like a dope.
