Long term plans don't seem to cut it anywhere in football these days, pretty much.

At least Liverpool are showing that it makes sense to give someone with good ideas some time to implement them. That still gives me hope. (Just about).

So of all the people within football for the BBC to pick as a talking head after Moyes' sacking, they once again nailed their bias to the mast and asked Christian Purslow...because he happened to work for Liverpool a couple of seasons back. Talk about putting the "bull" in "predictable"...

I guess it would be cruel to go over to the Man U board and say

Welcome to the sacking merry-go-round! It's not merry. But it does go around, and around, and around...

I don't want van Gaal for some reason, and it looks like I won't get him. I'd take de Boer, though it looks like I won't get him either. I'd rather we have a younger manager who's attack-minded. Moyes would be a good choice if ENIC wants an angry mob with implements of destruction at their doorstep.

Chelsea less than subtle about their intentions to see out a 0-0 with their line up <laugh>

Less than subtle with their hardcore anti-football as well. I've been disappointed with Atletico so far. Chelsea's got 11 in the box and Atletico are only sending two or three in, and using route 1 tactics. It's almost as if Atletico have never seen anyone willing to play such dire stuff and don't know what to do.

They're feeling the pressure. They're worried about conceding the away goal so they're holding back a bit, I think they'd have benefited a lot from having the away leg first.

Mourinho can certainly have no complaints about the ref so far, everything's going their way. As much as I don't like to see players get injured it was good to see Luiz didn't get away with that dirty push, he may have harmed his teams chances there.

Hmm, that's what Mourinho came for but after that I can only think that Atletico are still in the driving seat, it took 10 players back for the majority of the game to stop them and with a less sympathetic referee Chelsea would've found themself with 10 men and a few more bookings. Willian could've been off for diving too <laugh>

I don't care what anyone else says, I wouldn't want a Mourinho at my club. I'd take attractive attacking football, regardless of the result, over a £300mill Bolton that wins trophies.

Yeah, agreed. Obviously, Mourinho was hoping they might nick an away goal. As they didn't, I think Atletico will feel that they only have to score at Stamford Bridge to have a good chance of winning the tie.

  15. The Smug One won the CL before using anti-football tactics, so it's really no surprise that he's doing exactly the same.

The Chavs seem to revere his win-at-all-costs mentality, even if that cost is the quality of football that the Chavs are supposed to be paying to watch.

Personally, I'd be ashamed to be a Chelsea fan right now, and we have Sherwoodie ffs!
