Interesting debate on Borini and I respect others' views. But this one: "I dont take any notice of fans who say he was not good enough for brendan" Sorry but he clearly wasn't good enough for Brendan was he? If he was he wouldn't have ended up at Sunderland where may I remind everyone he's scored 4 goals in 28 and two of those were pens. I maintain he's yet to prove it at this level. The Prem is the toughest League in the world. If he comes here and does prove that he's up to it then brilliant, but at the moment he hasn't.
This from the Post It was not an exact repeat of Rochdale 2003, for this time there was no history lesson involved. But in the week of his 60th birthday, Alan Curtis once more stepped up to deliver a pre-match team-talk that will live in the memory for Swansea City. Eleven years ago, Curtis interrupted the warm-up at Spotland to stress to Swansea's players how crucial it was that they stayed in the Football League. He talked of past heroes at Vetch Field, of all the fine players that Swansea had produced and of how relegation to the Conference was inconceivable. They duly beat Rochdale and, after victory over Hull the following weekend, they survived. Swansea have not faced a relegation battle since â until this spring. And at Newcastle United last weekend, Curtis pulled Swansea's players together again. Garry Monk had spoken to his squad as normal at St James' Park. But Curtis felt there was a need to have a word of his own. "I don't know if Monks even knows about it â I didn't want to speak in front of him," he says. The last sentence is a bit odd!
Maybe just maybe he hasn't found a team/manger who believes in him .How many clubs has Routledge have to date ? .Brendan has better to choose from whereas we don't so I wouldn't write him off just yet.
Agree. Much better than Emnes, Ngog etc. He is never going anywhere at 'Pool behind Suarez and Sturridge and now Sterling. Not to mention Aspas. So Borini is either to languish, get transferred or get loaned.
