Lee is a player who has had a certain reputation but he has been superb for me. He has been exceptional. Positive. Every time fit. He has been organising others and keeping them right, he has been available and playing all the time. I need strong committed players at my club and Lee Cattermole is one of them.
I admit i can't fault his commitment and how well he organises others and tries to keep everyone right But 2 things that I have really seen this season is Around new year in particular he actually looked drunk on the pitch... In the last few games he has made certain errors which have led to the opposition scoring (Liverpool, Villa stick out, apparently he did at City too) Not sure whether or not he is a perfect fit tbh
I'm a big fan of Catts, but when the ball is off the ground it's as if he can't see it, ****ing weird.
I'm not cattermoles biggest fan but **** me he is miles better than Bridcock. hopefully he keeps his fine form going till the end of the season.
Absolutely. A holding midfielder nowadays should be able to dribble, pass & shoot to a good standard, as well as tackle and organize.
Good player, he's clearly worked on his all round game recently, still has the odd moment where I wonder if he has a brain but generally he's good
Sometimes he has had to do too much to cover for those not doing their jobs and ends up fking up. Against City, it was a pretty **** ball to him, which he struggled to control leading to their goal. He's not perfect by any means, but if others around him worked as hard and put in the same level of skill and effort, he'd be an even better player for us.
Been generally good, but prone to lapses. He let in E'to on Saturday for their goal, although he is a class striker so I shouldn't be too harsh. Got robbed against City too, if I recall correctly. However, we've had a lot worse performers than him this time round and, as has been said, it's goals we need as the main priority.
He has been much better this season, stayed on the pitch and has looked to play the ball forward instead of sideways and backwards.
He does make a good few dodgy passes but if the manager is encouraging him to look for a forward pass that has to be a good thing.
We didn't sell him in jan coz he is the kind of geezer we need for the remaining 3 home games We need to fight 3 wars
No one wanted him. Great man management by Gus to tell him what he wants to hear & heal the split for the final run in to the end of the season.
And against City in the final he played 2 fantastic passes which Gerrard would've been congratulated for. Against Chelsea he covered where others had moved out of position. Against City he came back from a small error and played superbly well..... Sorry to pick only your comment sid but it shows everything I need to tell me that people only remember the bad things he does. He was superb against spurs - by a mile our best player, scored a goal and looked very good in a more free role. Yet people remember the error against Villa and the errors which cost us goals. Sad state of affairs IMO. He's done more good for us this season than bad
