Depends how much of Man Utd PLC is in the hands of institutional investors.
If they have a large enough share, then their opinions cannot be ignored.

I think, from memory, The Glazer's only floated 10% with the club valued at some £2bln, so not a massive float. Nevertheless, you can bet that there will be major institutions with fairly large holdings. I would guess that The owners main concerns were to be seen to be doing something about the situation. In other words, to act decisively to help the share price. All these things are, or will be, considerations of these institutions should the Glazers want to tap the market again at some future date.

The fact is (as suggested here) , is that if even Man Utd, with their revenue stream etc, cannot even
allow a manager time to get a new empire going, what hope then for other clubs at the first signs that a
manager may be losing the plot.

10 managers already sacked / left their clubs this season in the premier league. It won't be any surprise if that's the same level next season.

And we know at least 2 of them were not under threat of relegation.

  7. How many of those managers should never have been appointed?

    I can think of 4.

have been appointed in the first place etc ?? :)

  9. AVB
    Sherwoodie
    Di Canio
    Moyes

None of the above should have been appointed.

Okay, so Sherwoodie hasn't yet been sacked, but we all know he's a dead-man walking.

  10. All this talk of Gaal going to United...

Why would to go to a mid table club, when he can come to Spurs and take us on a Europa League odyssey?

I don't think Moyes will take a new job for a while.

I think Laudrup is more likely than Moyes.

reckon he'd still want him now?
Bearing in mind some of the players united have, they are below us in the table and we've got a rookie in charge....

I frequently doubt levy's ability when it comes to footballing decisions, but i think even this is beyond Levy. isn't it?! <yikes>

In terms of perception it would look like a crazy decision. He's just failed monumentally at United (allbeit he must have been working to a long term plan so might have done things differently had he known what would happen) so most Spurs fans are likely to take his appointment as a sign of admission that you're not challenging for the top table.

AVB was working towards a long term plan. Long term plans don't cut it at white hart lane

Oh Christ! I'll admit I was touting moyes before we got Avb but now see the huge error of my ways. He's a highly paid Sunday league coach at best! Please say it ain't so?
