Maybe Mourinho will throw it in an attempt to get sacked so he can take the United job?

Neville and Carra did a good analysis on what was going wrong at the back last two games....

They were very funny last night.

definitely a possibility, but would he want the job if he didn't have money to spend? (well the alleged amounts being thrown around)

also be funny to see the reception that Mata would give him.

  3. Especially after his comments about Arsenal attempting to loan Ba but he blocked it because he thought linking Ba with Ozil would win Arsenal the league <laugh>

This is a must win game, as I don't think we will beat Palace at their place.
I think the chavs will set up solidly and look for a confidence performance to motivate them going into the 2nd leg against Atletico (lets hope there are a few injuries tonight to the chavs). I can't see them not getting something from the game sadly and I still think we will need to rely on city losing more points if we want to win the thing.

Apparently Webb can't ref the game because he did the reverse fixture. Didn't know about that rule, what's it suppose to prevent, getting screwed twice by the same guy?

webbs a homer type ref, knowing our luck we will get a ref who likes to give all the decisions to the away team.

I don't think we should ever say that about anyone, tbh.
I'm aware that it's possible to slip up at any point, but I see no reason to fear them any more than any of the other obstacles we've already overcome.

As for Chelsea and a 0-0, we haven't had a goal-less game all season and I don't really see it this time.
I wouldn't take a draw, if offered, at this point. It may well turn out to be enough, but it increases the pressure in the last two games.

This is a common misunderstanding. Webb is not a homer, he is a coward. This means he goes with the home team a lot but not always e.g. if there is a bigger (non-LFC) team

In any case his hatred of LFC is his first priority anyway so <ok>

  10. This thought seems to be common but I genuinely don't see why. Yes, they are good at home and have got some good points against some good sides recently but they have since secured their safety too and therefore have nothing but pride to play for. Same goes for the final match against Newcastle. All due respect intended to both teams but I think we should win both. The only concern I have is the pressure on our lads.

Although I'd take the draw this weekend, I'd obviously prefer a win and I expect us to go for the win. Keep the pressure off as much as possible. One thing I am certain of, it won't be 0-0.

    Take a draw?!?!?!

If we don't win, city then play straight after us knowing we are in reaching distance and the confidence they would take into that, I would bet they would beat both Palace and Everton (Mirallas out for the rest of season). We would then play Palace on the Monday with city right behind us. We have to beat the chavs this weekend and pray city drop points in their next couple of games.

    Also....

Martin Atkinson will be the referee for Sunday's crucial match between Premier League leaders Liverpool and second-placed Chelsea at Anfield. Five points separate the two teams with three games of the season remaining.

We'll take a win against Palace thank you very much. That's what we will go there for and that's what we'll come away with!

There's been a lot of hype about Palace and their manager but even at their best they are mid-table. We want the points for the title so let's go and get them. NO FEAR COYR

Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.

Does anyone know whether Ramirez faced any disciplinary action today? Or are the FA going to ignore that?

I think they normally meet on a Monday to review incidents but what with that being bank holiday maybe they'll look at it today/tomorrow morning? If he gets away with that then the ref needs to be demoted to league 2 as it means he would have admitted he saw it and wouldn't have taken any action.

The fact Ramirez turned and looked at him before swinging shows he clearly meant it.

On a side note, Cech is going off injured for Chelsea. Looks like he could well be out of our game as well.

    That's Lucas <doh>

Gerrard, Henderson, Sturridge, Coutinho and there's someone else in there that I can't see, Suarez probably. They're all in their, along with Lucas, Sakho isn't in there at all.
