Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Huddersfield & Carlisle have shown interest in 56-goal Guisborough Town striker Danny Johnson, according to Gazettelive. Johnson has scored 56 goals in all competitions this season, and his exploits have attracted the gaze of Middlesbrough, Premier League Cardiff, Championship Huddersfield and League One Carlisle. The 21-year-old from Nunthorpe returned to Rockliffe Park yesterday for a second training stint with Middlesbrough, having already spent some time there, as well as at Cardiff and Carlisle. Johnson has had a taste of the professional game with Hartlepool and Real Murcia. http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/clubs-show-interest-in-guisborough-town-striker/
If ever a transfer target summed up where we expect to be playing next season....................... I really don't think we need strikers for the Championship. FC, KWJ, The Spanish bloke, Maynard, Joe........ There is surely enough Championship goals in that lot.
Where do you think these top players today are plucked from.. there are some gems to be had from the lower and non leagues...
True in theory, but there are less and less players being missed by the top end (L1 and above) clubs due to the quality of scouting/networking. There will always be exceptions though, like Noone.
There are far to many foreign players allowed to play in this country that is the cause of home grown players not given a fair crack of the whip imo. This is why all the home nations teams are suffering in terms of competing with other top countries and until there is a cap on how many our teams can employ and use in our game then there is no chance of ever winning anything and in our case very little chance of qualifying for anything.
why are we crap??? we are crap because there are not enough home grown players given a look in and we prefer to go foreign..
