Just what are we voting for here?

Who do we think Utd want?
Who do we think they can plausibly get?
Or who would we like them to have?

And all 3 would still be contenders if it wasn't for the fact that they've taken on other jobs in the last 12 months...

Maureen would have walked there last summer, who knows he still might.....................

Surely it's natural for Woy to take it? They all told us what a brilliant manager he was and we shouldn't have sacked him so now's there chance to prove us wrong.

He can lead England to glory then take United back to the top <ok>

In all seriousness I said yesterday as well that putting rivalries aside this is surely a dream job for 90% of managers.

A huge club in world football who have had 1 bad season. It's a chance to take them back to the top while getting a huge amount of money to invest and knowing you can't be any worse than the previous manager!

It's my civil right or something that I MUST be allowed to register my protest vote! The politicians keep telling me that my opinion counts therefore it must be true. So I demand the option be included so that everybody can see that they are allowed to register their opinion.

If I don't have the option included then the poll is rigged and I am unanimous on that! <laugh>

Yeh but its a team with rubbish defence and central midfielders.

United squad is a bit like Spurs (if you take RVP and Mata out of the equation)

    You're probably right.
Moyes has probably done as bad as was humanly possible with a club of Utd's standing and resources, so anyone coming in will feel they can't possibly do any worse.
We live in hope, though. :)

I think you could safely say that Phil Neville would qualify as the "couldn't give a ****" option.

    You might be right there!

But all this froth about managers and even players to some degree is stopping people from truly concentrating upon the mess behind the scenes at OT. The handling of the dismissal is yet another example of the poor management control of the club since Gill departed. As much as the on-pitch problems need to be resolved the off-pitch regeneration is also vital. But long may their mess continue.

I think allowing Gill to leave at the same time as Ferguson - without seemingly putting up a fight to retain him - was a massive error.

As they lost their front and back of house leadership on the same day!

They'll need a manager who's strong and capable of leading the pen pushers imo.

The football manager who has the competence to lead corporate affairs as well has not been born yet.

  17. Didn't Gill announce he was leaving long before Fergie did? Maybe Fergie was the one that did a runner as a result? He was losing his rock in the board room.

The announcement came first, but I don't believe for one minute that Ferguson only decided at the end of last Feb that he was calling it a day.

Iain Dowie? Dread the idea of Martinez at OT. He'd be ****ing devastating. If Chavski get knocked out of the CL and don't pull off a miracle in the Prem I think Tobes is right - don't rule out Mr Anti-Football, The Stoneage One. He was certainly sucking-up for the job this time last year.

  20. I don't either but it is feasible he decided the day Gill told him he was moving on. For all we know, Fergie and Gill had a packed to stick together and leave together <laugh>

Besides, there's not a lot the club could have done since one was moving to bigger and better things and the other was retiring.
