Seeing as LVG is probably Utd's first choice and will likely head there if they do indeed approach him, I'd love for us to pursue de Boer. He was someone I wanted when AVB was sacked, think he has all the right tools to fit in here. Failing that, a high profile manager would be nice, Benitez/ Mancini/ Ancelotti (if sacked from Real).
We need to get De Boer's staff right if we go after him and then give him time to adjust. It'd probably make Vertonghen and Eriksen happy, though. Bringing in Meulensteen and/or Phelan might be an idea. Ajax got absolutely battered in their cup final on the weekend. Went 1-0 up after three minutes and lost 5-1 to PEC Zwolle. The game had to be delayed and restarted a couple of times after Ajax fans were lobbing fireworks on the pitch and in the stands. They've basically won the title again, though. Moyes can't be judged on his time at Utd as he was given the hardest job in football and was basically doomed from the outset , but that doesn't mean I want him at Spurs, as he needs to rebuild his reputation and may go down the same route as Mark Hughes and make another mistake in management before he finds his way back to a mid table team like Stoke and starts showing hes a decent manager, as he is a decent manager,
As manager of Man Utd, you are expected as the manager, to not only win, but to play attractive, attacking football too. Moyes, like AVB, achieved neither. If the strong rumours about him having lost the dressing room had any foundation, then the writing was on the wall...
