You are right Jack, its a means to an end. And I accept that. But I reckon with the money our squad costs and the players we have we should have walked this league in style. The fact we havent is down to team selection and rotation, tactics and motivation. I know it could have been worse like Wolves, but it could also have been so much better.

If we go up and the manager gives us the same I cant see us winning any games.

Still lets hope for the best in the play offs and support the team, its all we can do, but I am looking forward to the end of the season, Im that pi**ed off with the performances week after week. I cant even bear to listen to the managers pre and post match press conferences. I take take his bullshit anymore.

After our great start I thought we would start to play with a bit more flair. Injuries haven't helped though. I would have settled for the playoffs back in August though. Hopefully it will be exciting and successful.

Barton has been our Player of the Season, without doubt. And given the state he was in, it's a minor miracle that he's doing as well as he is. It's a shame that you are so blinkered in your dislike of him, and of others at the club, that you can't recognise the shift he has put in and acknowledge it. I'm sure that has a huge effect on your attitude - the fact that you are so blinkered and unbending in your dislike for what's going on at the club you pretend to love.

Yes - I said pretend - because I can't see anything, in any post you have written over the past three months at least, that indicates any desire for the team to do well, any praise for anyone at the club, and any possibility that you are able to see past your petty, small-minded, small-club mindset and give the least amount of credit to the team. If they are your club, really your club, then I cannot see how you can think this way, wanting us to fail just so that you can sit there behind your keyboard and say "told you we were crap"...

    Jeez....

I said I don't like him, I never said he was rubbish, however that can't be said for henry aj Zamora keane maiga etc.

Ill praise the team and manager when we put in performances worthy of praise.

Loftus Road has been subdued for 2-3 years now. Something's changed. Anything I ever read about our fans being particularly fervent or loyal - well, I just don't buy it any more. QPR now has lukewarm, dull, dispassionate support. That's life. Does it matter?

The atomsphere has been **** all season IMO .. Piss poor in fact
I noticed it from day one under Harold

The club is IMO at least 5 notches down from recent years

I warned of it a long time back the route the club was taking with its money and then after our fans expectations .. It's the root cause of all ill feeling ... Look what Flyer our brother has become

Still we are in the play offs and would be nice to think that the famous LR crowd will get behind this team

I haven't followed us as much this year and respect to Judo Sussex etc who has . I don't regret only attending under half the matches this year as I don't like our manager . I respect our passing game and Harold for getting that right but as for soul ... QPR soul at that ... It's been sterilized to the ego of HR

Our home tie in the play offs is however a time when the fans have to do their job for our club

How we get our soul back is through the famous LR roar and anyone on here can't get that against the boys from Millwall then we are indeed lost

The lions will roar Sat as they are fighting hard and HR needs to get some firm form into this team he has built ...

We have gone from a team that neutrals felt a 2nd affection for to a team everyone wants to smash that is unforgivable in my book

    Do your bloody job everyone

No he isn’t. He has only managed to get us into the lottery of the play offs

With the money he spent it’s a crime to leave us in that position. Add to that the **** state he’s left us in if we don’t go up. With the number of loan players we’ve got and old players with contracts ending at season end.

McGugan was a free signing at the start of the season and Arry spends a million quid on Karl Henry?!

Why is the distinction between playing good, entertaining football and winning games?

Also you might have a point if we were in Burnley or Leicester’s position but we’re in a very uncertain position of playoffs now.

He spent £10m quid in the summer and forked out millions more on loan deals for BAE and Kranjcar but the automatic propsects crumbled as soon as one player hurt his shoulder and our form for 15 games or more was lower half of the table form. Unforgiveable really

Real genuine atmosphere comes from passion and excitement. Even if everyone had the happy clapper mind set there would be no real atmosphere.

The fact that you use the phrase ‘without a doubt’ shows how incredibly blinkered you are.

Austin, Simpson, Hill are all ahead of him for me. Even Rob Green. Paddy Kenny kept far less clean sheets and somehow managed to win it.

And you make that statement after Bartons particularly piss poor performance yesterday. The bloke couldn’t pass wind

Yes. Barton has been the best player this season. We've needed a good keeper, and Green has been that behind a (usually) reliable defence. Hill has done brilliantly, but there were no expectations on his old legs, and the mere fact he's still able to put in 90 minutes is impressive. Austin has been very good, but he's also missed some sitters. and Simpson's been in and out of the side (no doubt as much due to selection as form).

Barton has been the first name on the sheet - when fit and available, he's been the anchor in midfield, the driving force behind the great start we made, the one player on occasions who was actually putting in the effort. Given what we all expected - in fact most of us, myself included, didn't want him back - he's been a revelation. So for me, he's clearly Player of the Season.

I'm sure that the moaning minnies will disagree, but that's fine. Just because you have a wrong opinion, doesn't mean you can't share it...

So if he gets us up through the playoffs that is no achievement then?
    Basically, he can't win then.

At the end of last season few thought we'd make the play-offs, although we haven't been great we're there and it's still possible.

    Result imho.

Barton’s a religion or more of a cult actually for some on here.

Certainly blind faith that cannot be broken.

    Definition of faith:
“strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof”

“Been the anchor and a driving force in midfield” is not really based on anything. What I see is a guy who gives the ball away far too often to be attributed with such a compliment but that your opinion based on blind faith rather than tangible’s

Yes its an achievement and if it comes off May 24th will be one of the best days of my life but with the squad we have and the money we’ve invested since Redknapp has been here on wages and signings their should have been enough resources at hand to finish above Burnely.

90% of Redknapps signings have been of a short term nature. Only the 3 big money signings (Austin, Henry, Phillips) plus Simpson and proven premiership right back on good wages are signings beyond the end of the season. Most of signings are short term and on big wages (Kranjcar, BAE, Morrisson, Maiga, Keane, Hughes, O’Neil and Benayoun). That isn’t the sign of a manage that is building a team that is a short term splash of cash to get us up this year and if it doesn’t come off we are ****ed.

So for me the lottery of the playoffs is underperforming.

Because of Wolves that was chucked around loosely.

But come August we were favourite’s and then signing likes of Simpson, Krancjar, BAE Austin and Simpson amongst others for big money while retaining other big money players like Onouha, Hoilett, Barton and Green you cannot honestly say that playoffs was an achievement.

Atmosphere was poor because the team was awful up until last 20 minutes or so anyway. Watford must be kicking themselves. They could have settled for a point but understandably were pushing for the win they needed which allowed us to win it on the break. To be fair I think everyone has been waiting for the playoffs for a while now so the roof was never going to be raised yesterday. Should be a different story atmosphere wise when we play Wigan. Remember the Oldham game in 2003? Pretty much the best atmosphere ever that day.

For the record, Green is definitely my player of the year. Barton has done well too, as have Austin, Simpson and Onuoha. I think even Bobby is proving what he can do when not injured!!

I think that you're right Jack, he cant win.

But I think he's brought that on himself. Firstly by not winning the fans round with a "call to arms". Rather he always seems to be talking us down rather than up and reminding us how tough the league is.

Secondly by his somewhat baffling line ups and tactics. Suddenly using players who havent played for 12 months, making game after game changes in personnel (often seemingly unneccessary), having a totally unbalanced squad with only one fit striker, playing other teams youngsters rather than our own.

Lets hope that we can get some atmosphere back for the play offs, but the manager and the team need to do their bit. They need to come out all guns blazing in my opinion and take the game to the opposition. But I suspect it'll be the old cautious approach (maybe thats right though in the current position, but I'm bored with it)

Yes, all fair points. I am not a big fan of his by the way Sussex but my expectation was not high this season and we still have as good a chance as any in the playoffs. At times there have been glimpses of a good side in there but only fleeting glimpses unfortunately.

Yeah I agree. I think the thing now is to get behind the team for 3 (hopefully) vital games. Lets hope we do ourselves justice in the games to come.
