"Ipswich had taken the lead through Paul Anderson's goal but just as the home fans were chanting that they were going up, an unmarked Cook made it 1-1."

Oh God I hope they stay down and we stay up. That's the way football should be.

Better to be fighting for top Six as opposed to be fighting to avoid the drop! <laugh>

Not when you consider that the former is in the Premier League and the latter in the Championship.

And in the remote chance that Norwich are relegated then they will have no debt and a new manager will have substantial funds to rebuild the squad and a swift return to PL will happen.

This is real money and not some balance sheet fiddle a la marcus evans.

We might even poach Mccarthy who is unhappy having to do a sponsored walk to raise transfer funds at Ipswich

Wolves and Leicester both thought the same before they crashed into league 1 after back to back relegations! <ok>

Poor old warky, always gullible enough for a wind up.

If and an unlikely if Norwich are relegated then I am sure Mccarthy would walk given the transfer funds available and the comparative ambitions of the two boards.

Norwich would then have to jettison Mick as soon as promotion is secured due to his previous failings at PL level..

You could have him back then.

If the scoreline stays the same at Elland Rd then Forest go above the Binmen too on GD.

I do wish we'd kept Delia to lead the line this season, rather than loaning her out for experience. I believe she prefers the title of Chef though.

To be fair, Ipswich have a good chance of making the playoffs. On the other hand, the other clubs that they would potentially play in the play offs are generally stronger in all departments (especially the strikers) and have players that can come off the bench to change the game or hold onto a lead.

Saw a stat today ( BBC website) that Ipswich are the longest serving team for consecutive years in the second tier. 12years

We may well go down but after 3 years of Prem footy we are debt free and have a bit of money, so not too bad in comparison.
