He'll jump before he is pushed. Its been released to the press so he know's that he is getting the bullet, he will step down in order to try and save face. IMO.

Okay, so they shouldn't try to improve their performances and league standing, because that would result in them earning more money? I guess we shouldn't either then...

No he wouldn't. If he resigned he wouldn't get a massive pay off.

Furthermore, if it's been released to the press that he's getting sacked, there's no face left to save.

Sorry you are quite right .

My point is they should give DM more than 1 season .

If the current owners / share holders care to look back at SAF early years , they will see they nearly got relegated under him , yet they stuck by him .

Well yeah, but the squad was crap and they had no money (relative to now).

Hmm, I don't know whether I'd go along with that, Joe. Nobody had money then relative to now. They had very good players during Fergie's early years, and they've never ever been short of money, compared to their rivals. Amongst the biggest league grounds in England, so therefore the biggest gate receipts if nothing else. That's even when they had to give half of it away in the league, before they voted to keep it all. Of course, they saved what they had by having a pretty damn fine academy, but that can't be absolutely relied upon to produce the best young players every generation.

Fergie did have a couple of years where it was touch and go, but football was more patient back then. It was more of a sport back then too and nobody talked about the money side unless a club paid an enormous amount for a player. Nowadays, it's a very close second to what goes on, on the pitch.

Last year Liverpool finished 7th after losing 13 games in total.

Now with the same squad (more-or-less) ...1st

    Just saying.....

Think United fans are less tolerant now...they believe they own the league. As for the owners, they borrowed a lot of money against the club and need to finance it (not that there is any chance that they won't). The past is a foreign country, they do things differently there.

Yeah with the same squad more-or-less, plus...

    Simon Mignolet
    Kolo Toure
    Tiago Illori
    Mamadou Sakho
    Aly Cissokho
    Victor Moses
    Luis Alberto
    Iago Aspas

Only £50.2m spent... plus a new mega-deal for Suarez.

Arguably only Mignolet has been particularly good, with Toure and Sakho being okay.
