Hi all What points do you think we will finish on? Secondly who are your bottom three predictions with their points accrued?
We will get 40 points. Going down, Cardiff, Fulham & Norwich. Would prefer Sunderland instead of Norwich, like Norwich.
I'll be the only one right with our points ... Swansea --45 points . Relegation battle .....17th Norwich , 35-- 18th Fulham , 34--19th Sunderland , 33 -- 20th Cardiff , 33 but worse gd
I agree with never, I think we will get 40 points. To go down Norwich (unfortunately), Fulham, the last place will be taken by the loser of Sunderland v Cardiff next weekend
I've said Norwich, Sunderland and Cardiff for ages. For me it's a question of who of the three at the bottom will swap with Norwich and for me it's Fulham. They are playing well but I admit it seems to be getting more difficult every week to predict. I've just had a look at the run-in for each team and Fulham have got some winnable games in there. I think Norwich have left it too late with their run-in which is nothing short of horrific. Can Cardiff and/ or Sunderland get out of it? Cardiff have had it I think. Sunderland should beat them at home next week and that'll be the end of it. But I still have doubts that Sunderland will pull themselves out of trouble even though they've had some great results. They have Man U away then the Baggies (also at the bottom-ish) and us for the last game. If they beat the Baggies that could be the most important one. I expect us to get around 39 which should be more than enough. Interesting times. As a further point.... how ironic if we have to win on the final game to save Cardiff and condemn Sunderland. You couldn't make it up.
It is entirely possible that Sunderland would need 3 against us to avoid the drop and in winning the game would end up sending Cardiff down. Would you all still be wanting us to win (providing we are safe) and send Sunderland down or lose and down go Cardiff.
42pts Relegation between Villa (In free fall). Sunderland (on the up), Norwich (nightmare fixtures list), Fulham (just not good enough), and Cardiff (couldn't care less). Got a sneaky suspicion Sunderland will make it. They beat Cardiff then they're out of bottom three as I don't see Fulham or Norwich winning many more points this season if any. The fly in the ointment is Villa who are dropping like a Stuka.
Check Fulham's fixtures. Home to Hull, away to Stoke, home to Palace. Not easy but doable imo. By far the 'easiest' of those scrapping it out imo. As for the last day, provided we're safe I'd be happy to save Sunderland.
We must send a regular team our last game , regardless of who it does and doesn't help. Our built reputation in general already took a hit from the squad sent out against Everton in the FA CUP , trying to " Control " which teams get relegated won't help build our reputation back up. Just another game to win , regardless if we are already safe by last game .
I'd be surprised if the club aren't totally professional in their approach to the Sunderland game , as much as it would delight a lot of supporters that we could have a huge bearing on Cardiffs' PL future ( I think it'll be decided before then imo ) the club won't want to get into any kind of media war between us and them if we lose to Sunderland and determine cardiffs' fate , in any other manner than being beaten by the better team .Points make prizes at this level and the Board will want to finish the season on a high, figuratively and financially .
I am not suggesting we put a weakened side out or throwing the game. Just what would you want to happen. Us lose and Sunderland stay up or We win and cardiff do.
We are capable of finishing on 42 points, but I think we will achieve 40 points, which is 1 win and a draw!.......... As for the bottom 3, think it will be Sunderland Cardiff and Fulham, I see Norwich getting a result against Manu, and maybe a draw with Arsenal!
"I see Norwich getting a result against Manu, and maybe a draw with Arsenal!" Don't see that at all though they played well yesterday at times. That said, Liverpool always concede. Fulham will escape I think - take a look at their run in. Failing that Sunderland might actually do it. Some superb results recently and will continue by thumping Cardiff next week.
You could be right regarding Sunderland, but I don't think they are consistent enough, and Norwich can be a very dogged team when they want to be, their second half performance against Liverpool looked very promising!................
Whilst I love a bit of conjecture, it's just too tight and unpredictable to call. Three of the current bottom four is all I'll guess This has been an incredible season, top and bottom. And it's not over yet - the final day should be very entertaining!
