I thought it was a great signing, despite someone on here who said the Bolton fans thought we were mugs. Kermy did'nt come with rave reviews from Leicester, but he was a gem. Sordell was described as lazy by the Bolton fans, and they were right. You can never tell till they start, but really, at least we've learnt about Sodall. The sad thing is we are so shorn of quality up front that both this seasons managers have kept putting him back in.
From his point of view he should hang his head in shame at where he is at now after his season with Watford and the England U21s.

I was amazed we got him. I thought he would be beyond our means.

And don't forget a year earlier he was in the UK Olympic squad so a lot of people must have rate him highly.

Personally I reckon it is all down to the power shakes that he consumes instead of abiding by a proper diet. These apparently "build muscle" which has left him muscle bound and unable to run very far or very fast compared to his days at Watford. Unfortunately I reckon he convinced Harriots to join him on the nonsense diet and it maybe that Obika has been convinced as well. All have put on the pounds from their youthful fitness and whilst they may be able to withstand the feather that blows over Reza they have none of his agility or speed. They say that the brain is the biggest muscle and their reading of the game is suffering as well. Reza and the Pig for me to start on Monday with Church on the bench. Astrid didn't last 80 minutes on Friday and noticeably slowed after 65 but he is getting fitter with all the matches and may be able to last 80 by the Blackburn match. He should still start if he has no broken bones since he has a better brain than most.

I am not one for predictions but think we will be lucky to get a point in Sheffield

Whats your point, it was a serious mistake signing Sordell, why the criticism of CP for admitting he got it wrong (if thats true). I seem to remember most were delighted we had a "potential match winning forward" . Perhaps Jose should tell Sordell to go on holiday now, rather than his unofficial holiday he has been on most of the season, instead Jose, keeps selecting him.

Sat in a hotel on the Costa Brava at the end of a well deserved easter chill out. Brandy chasers with the odd beer, while my daughters irritate the locals and their barely deserved 2-1 win over Bilbao. It's nice to get away, but tomorrow I'll be driving while we play the Wendies. I've no doubt they'll be fired up after we denied them their chance of derby humilliation in the cup. Is it too much to ask ours that we come out playing football, at least for the poor sods making their X'th trip to yokshire this season? Hoping for good newd when I arrive home and plug in the mobile, but I sure our forwards will screw it up for me, so I'll have nother chaser now.

Assuming Solly is out, I think we could do worse than bring in Pritchard for this one(sorry V-a-v). He's a better option than Green or Harriott on the right, he's the right sort of character for a relegation scrap, and he'd be a lot more help to Wilson than those 2. I wouldn't start Astrid, use him as a sub for Jacko, who looked so exhausted at the end of Saturday's game I don't think he'll be able to do 90 minutes.

Afternoon all <ok> Weirdly, today is more or less a normal working day here in Spain, but luckily mine finished an hour ago so here I am.

Charlton: Hamer; Solly, Fox, Dervite, Morrison; Harriott, Poyet, Cousins, Jackson; Sordell, Church

Subs: Thuram-Ulien, Ghoochannejhad, Petrucci, Ajdarevic, Wood, Wilson, Obika

Sheffield Wednesday: Kirkland; Antonio, Onyewu, Coke, Helan, Maguire, Lee, Palmer, Llera, Nuhiu, Best.

Subs: Martinez, Johnson, Taylor, Mattock, Corry, Lavery, Afobe

Solly returns and Wilson is dropped to the bench. It looks like 4-4-2, possibly with Cousins on the right wing, or it could be Harriott. Church keeps his spot with Sordell up front. Llera starts for Wednesday.

    COYA!

Apart from Christmas/Hogmanay, there are no bank holidays here. On lunch just now, but will try to listen when I get back to work.

From the line-up, it appears to be another "bonus match"

FFS Riga, play Solly and Wilson on the right! Regardless of who's playing where, that midfield 4 doesn't work, none of them are right wingers. Despite that I reckon we'll score today with Llera playing, wasn't good enough 3 years ago, god knows how he is now.

    Wednesday score.

Long ball over the top catches out Morrison and Nuhiu fires home.

    1-0 :(

    Wednesday score.

Nuhiu involved again, finding Maguire who drills into the left hand corner.

    2-0 :(
