I wonder if anyone can answer this. With the winners of the Europa league gaining qualification to the CL, does that mean that if we, Spurs or someone else wins the Europa, but finishes 5th or 6th in the table, does this mean that 5 English teams get in the CL? Or would the team that finished 4th get knocked out, a little like what happened to Spurs when Chelsea won the CL a few years back. I have no idea how this works, but I'd be proper annoyed if we finish 4th next year, and didn't qualify for the CL because of Spurs or Everton winning the Europa
I think if an English team won the Europa then only the top three would qualify for the CL.I'm sure the maximum number any country can have participating in the CL is four.
How about if the Europa winners finish in the top 4, does that create an extra place, where the 5th placed team in the table would qualify?
If the top 4 qualify and a club out side the top 4 from england wins the europa then 5 english teams qualify.
To be honest I've never looked into it.Will the Europa winners go straight into the CL group stage or will they have to play in the qualification rounds ?
I'd be suprised if they didn't go straight into it, as CL qualification should mean CL qualification. The qualifying rounds aren't the CL
