Always assuming that we miss out on the play-offs and beyond. Congratulations to Brentford on their promotion to the Championship. It's been 37 years since we lost to them - and long may it continue...
Another ex Watford employee promoted! Well done to Mark Warburton and his team. 10 years he wasn't even in the game.
Looking forward to it - for some reason I have never been to Griffin Park. So fort a ground that is reported to have a pub on each corner - should be a good day out!
Not only RL and MW, but Toumani Diagouraga and their 4th choice keeper, Jack Bonham. Yes, w_y, you are right about the pubs, so much so that when they talked about the plans for the new ground on LKO, their chairman was even asked if there will be pubs in close proximity to it! The only time I went there was for an U21 international v RoI. I was so used to the U21 internationals at the Vic (usually against Denmark - I'd love to know why) being about as well supported as our reserve matches, I thought I would have no problems getting in but the home areas were sold out so I was on the terracing with the Irish fans. It was a good laugh with them, and they didn't even mind me celebrating the England goals, which was just as well as England had an easy 3-0 win.
I lived in Ealing when I first came to London in the 60s and we used to go occasionally to Brentford. Not only were there pubs on all 4 corners but several down South Ealing Road and of course many at both ends of Kew Bridge. I remember teaching the son of the then Chairman who was unfortunate enough to be a very talented footballer in the worst year football team anyone could remember. He resorted to going in goal in the end and helped them pull off their only win of the season!
Looking forward to going back. My first ever professional game was at Griffin Park for Brentford v Crewe. I went with School friend who had a season ticket. Supporting them was never an option though!!
