There was a showy Liberace style pianist in the 70's called Wayne King. He made albums and everything.
Surlyc I went away for the past 3 weeks , so did not post, on my return I received a message from not 606 that constant attempts to access my account had been made without success due to incorrect password, not by me I must add They then suspended ROSCAFRE and suggested a new name thus KUNYE ( a tester for all work out what the word means) So now I am back on the forum I intend to be both supportive, contentious, and as critical as ever.
Welcome back rosc (I'll still call you rosc, if that's okay) Been wondering where you were with all the U18s excitement going on. Is the new moniker anything to do with where you went?
Likewise recently. Stocky has been active and appreciative also; some of the young guns also been appreciative. The last couple of weeks on #ffc have been mutually encouraging.
Some positive news at last... especially if you live half way between Fulham and Crawley (as I do). Life expectancy: Which football fans are Premier League?
Not quite such good news for me. Oxford (my nearest league club) are 5th in the Championship. Better off than Birmingham, though.
Well, you lot will all outlive me then - Fulham-based fans have four years more life expectancy than Bournemouth-based ones. Been nice knowing you all.
Strong rumours that Rene is heading back to Manchester United: "Rene Meulensteen is being considered for a senior role in the backroom staff at Manchester United, reports the Sunday Times. Although not yet confirmed as Manchester United's next manager, it is widely believed that Louis van Gaal will take over at Old Trafford for next season. The only major question is what his coaching team will look like. There have been plenty of snags over which of Van Gaal's preferred staff will be given roles at Manchester United, but it is reported that Meulensteen, who has been unemployed since losing his job at Fulham, is a candidate for a key backroom role."
Given how popular Meulensteen was, apparently, with the United players, I was surprised they didn't bring him back when they appointed Giggs as caretaker. This seems like a very sensible appointment to me, if it happens. He's a world class coach, but not a world class manager. As long as they're not tempted to give him the keys to the manager's office (which they surely aren't), he's a good man to have in the set-up.
Every once in a while one of these bizarre stories happen where technology hinders advancement of the global game. The story of âPajtim Kasami and the Malfunctioning Fax Machineâ comes to mind (where his proposed transfer to Serie Aâs Pescara was scuppered due to a paperwork transfer failure). And now this. Not the machineâs fault but the playerâs and the name isnât all that surprising. Badou Ezzaki, manager of the Moroccan national team, told reporters that AC Milan winger Adel Taarabt was not included in his countryâs squad for a trio of late-May friendlies because he wouldnât pick up his phone. âHow can I call up a player who doesnât respond to the phone calls or messages that we send?â Ezzaki asked. please log in to view this image Guess it should be no big surprise that Taarabtâs me-first attitude has struck yet again, this time leaving his national team out to dry. .
Apparently he's turning down a permanent move to Milan, so he could be Harry's problem again next season. Let's hope it's in the Championship not the Premier League.
