Caught fair and square. Every week there's an incident where a player lashes out at another or tackles another, and the other player hits the floor like he's been pole-axed. Then the replay zooms in to measure the degree of contact and everyone can clearly see that, although the victim has indeed been hit, if he had been smacked by a thrown feather, the contact would have been more powerful. This level of play acting really, really does piss me off the sport. I'm not saying that Suarez above, for example, didn't get a knock, but it's the devotion the player displays in trying to influence the referee, that kills it for me, and sadly the referees are influenced because there are genuine players out there who do get badly injured - our own Jay Rodriguez for example.

Of course, Suarez will get Player of the Year [which he deserves for his brilliance only] and everyone will forget that he's a bit of a cheat like a lot of other players. And really, it shouldn't be so.

His post match interview yesterday really summed it all up. He claimed that he was very proud of the way they played and that they were the better team by far. United fans won't have been proud, that's for sure. Van Gaal to take over?

If Van Gaal takes over, doesn't that make Pochettino favourite for the Spurs job?

I read that Van Gaal has met with Ed Woodward and the Glazers about taking over, but they may try for someone like Klopp. Maybe they could go for Pochettino? Then half our team really would be off to United.

I'd have thought they'd make a play at Klopp or Diego Simeone before going for Poch.

I don't see any reason why Simeone would want to leave his current job for it. Would probably be a step down for Klopp too.

Story broken by Mark Ogden of The Telgraph, who broke Sir Alex's retirement.

Exactly. This is the difference between this season and last. In all honesty, when Sir Alex announced his retirement, United could have literally taken their pick of any manager in the world, except Guardiola as he was already heading to Bayern. Now, after an awful season, with a squad of players who simply don't look up to it, and no CL or European football next season (Europa unlikely), it is difficult to see why the likes of Klopp and Simeone would want to go.

I dunno, I think most would see it as an opportunity to manage a team which may not be in a great position now, but surely will be again in the near future, and it's a chance to be seen as the person who made that happen, even though it was really the endless supply of cash more than anything. There's also the history and reputation of the club, which would be very appealing to any aspiring manager, and of course let's not forget the lovely salary they'd get.

Still reckon it'll be Van Gaal though, and I'm pretty worried about that.

I can see Klopp going to Man United. With first Gotze and then Lewandowski departing, Klopp would consider leaving as Dortmund won't be winning the Bundesliga anytime soon.

Allegri, former Milan manager, has apparently already agreed a deal with Spurs to take over.

Talking about managerial movements, does anyone know why Mauricio thought it was so hilarious to be linked with Getafe in a recent interview. It was obviously so outrageous that it was funny. Is it the equivalent of being linked with West Brom?

They're in the relegation zone, so yeah he definitely won't be going there.
