I'm not split on Aspas at all, he's not good enough for us so sell him. Borini is a splitter for me though.
I just think Borini is a better squad option and we shouldn't be looking to bring too many newbies into the side.
I agree, at least he has some fight and desire in him. I would rather he was on the bench to bring on than Moses.
Had to laugh at this. If ever there was a contradiction in terms:from the mirror..... "Spurs are eyeing up a move for United striker Danny Welbeck, 23, as Daniel Levy looks for a top-class striker.":
Sorry but Borini is not good enough, despite an ok season at Sunderland. I've watched Sunderland a lot this season, Borini has played decent, but is he good enough for a squad that is hoping to push on to challenge for the title next season AND compete in the CL? Sorry but he's not, he's a willing runner but he doesn't have one stand out quality (other than being a very cool penalty taker). I think the lad will make a decent career for his self, maybe in the Dirk Kuyt mould of being a "big game player", I just don't think he has the right attributes in a footballing sense to succeed with us, while bearing in mind due to the success of this season our scope for talent in Summer has to be completely re-evaluated.
what about remy as a backup player? agree on Borini not convinced either, same as Aspas, also we have ass coming back as well, some of them are goners surely.(hopefully all 3 but doubtful sadly)
no we shouldn't, get your point, but that's the only position we would struggle to improve on without pissing one of them off. to improve on them 2 we would have to fork out a lot of what budget we would have, don't you think money would be better spent elsewhere and get a decent backup in for that position? ie GK LB DM etc. assuming you think remy would be, why i asked the question, or stick with Borini.
No, I'd take Remy as I think he and Studge would be good competition and Remy is able to play wide too (Brod insists on signings being versatile). Its not a case of pissing players off. They are part of a squad and if they are good enough they will keep their place. I object to signing backups but I don't object to signing competition.
Agreed Remy would be a good cheapish option and premiership proven. But we desperately need better defensive options than what we have and someone better than Lucas in midfield.
Remy has gone off the boil in recent months. Still a good player but can be very hit and miss, I'd rather us set our sights a tad higher.
johnson will say. RB isnt a big deal for me this summer. Get a top quality LB in like Smelzer, and a real decent midfield engine man.
Hasn't he been out for quite a while? He's new castles only player who scores consistently...what could he do with better players around him?
After today I'd say RB is extremely important. Johnson put in yet another lackluster performance. At one time we'd say his defending was poor but at least he could go forward, this year neither has been good. Most of the time he doesn't even look like he's bothered about playing. He's lazy and apathetic. Flanno is a useful young player and will give his all, but a real quality RB is whats needed.
