Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy is wanted by Serie A side Roma, the Daily Mirror reports.

The club's director Walter Sabatini is heading to London to discuss a £7million switch for the player.

The France international is a key part of the Gunners' team but could be sold because his contract is up next summer and he is yet to agree a new deal.

Arsenal rate Clichy at £10 million, but Sabatini is eager to get the asking price down to £7 million or agree a deal that would see a Roma player move in the opposite direction.

Roma's new boss Luis Enrique highlighted the Arsenal man as a target and is keen to complete a deal during his trip.

The whirlwind visit will see the Roma supremo visiting the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Tottenham to drum-up interest in the sale of £18 million striker Mirko Vucinic.

The Montenegro international will also be offered to Arsenal as part of the Clichy deal, but Arsene Wenger is thought to prefer a straight-cash deal if he is to lose the defender.

£7 Million seems pretty damn cheap.

Why do we always sell our players on the cheap? This is why i wont be suprised if Fabregas goes to Barca for as little as £25 -30 Million. We dont seem capable of playing hardball when it comes to these things.

If Arsenal take less than £35 million for Cesc you have been robbed. Carroll cost £35million for crying out loud!

You should snatch their hands off at £7M

Gael Clichy is the very embodiment of Arsenal under Wenger's Masterplan

Looks showbiz on the ball at times, graceful in full flight, but useless in both boxes

Yeah - This is my point.

    Carroll goes for £35m
    Suarez goes for £25m
    Henderson goes for £20m
    Torres goes for £50m

By recent transfer activity Fabregas should be worth around £50 Million.

He's consistantly been one of the best players in the league for the last 5-6 Seasons - AND HE'S STILL ONLY 23

I just would'nt be suprised if he goes for ALOT less.

When Cesc is fit and on his game probably one of the most complete midfielders in Europe. Before his contract comes to a close Arsenal this summer should demand £35 million plus a top player from them.

clichy isn't willing to sign a new contract so arsenal have to accept whatever they can get which will only be around £5-£10m. can't see cesc going for less than £35m unless it involves a couple of squad players moving the opposite way

I think Clichy wants to go to Liverpool, who are offering £5 million.

As regards Fab, your problem with him is that he will only move to Barca, and they know that, so they can offer what they like. I know that sounds bad for you and you might consider yourselves robbed, but the fact is that it is market prices that push up a player's worth, and Fab isn't in the market. Barca have consistently made it clear that they consider Fab to be their player and that they are not going to be robbed by you for his services. I know that Fab has a few years left on his contract, but he is young, and Barca seem prepared to wait for him to leave on a Bosman, which is where you seem to be heading with him.

In the meantime, has Nasri signed his contract yet? If not, I'd really like him at Spurs. What do you think we'd have to pay for him? £10 million?

Nasri might go to Spurs if we threw in Defoe as a make-weight.

I admit that it's a long shot, but Harry can be very persuasive with players. Look at how he's handled the Modric affair, after the tapping-up by Chelsea.

Give me a break. Harry wont manage to keep Modric, Bale or Van Der Vaart much longer - A year at most.

Clichy is cheap because he's in the last year of his contract.

Is that your honest opinion? Or are you saying it merely to hurt me?
