Two days before St George's Day the Chairboys go into battle against the Cod Army looking for that elusive win that could ensure their Football League status. Things could have been very much different if Deano's goal hadn't been wrongly ruled out for offside, as going into the last three game with a 3pt gap would have felt so much more comfortable, at least Pompey were the only winners in the bottom half of the table lets hope their four game winning streak continues. Talking of runs Fleetwood are on a run themselves in the last 10 games it reads D-W-D-W-L-W-D-W-D-W so the sequence experts out there can tell us what comes next. We will be without Paris for this game after he was rushed back too soon on Friday also Aaron is a big doubt after coming off with a shoulder injury so we could go back to packing the midfield and lets hope Fleetwood's sequence is a L. Keeping the faith PS Good luck to Pompey, the Gulls and Dale for their bank holiday fixtures
I imagine Ainsworth will play the same formation at Scunny 4-5-1 packing the midfield to stifle Fleetwood,it won't be pretty but needs must! By the time we kick-off the players will know the Bristol Rovers score as they start at 1pm v Rochdale.
IF we could win this, and both Exeter & Hartlepool lose, it would get very interesting; although it would lift Morecambe to safety (almost)
Surely Kuffour can't start again, can he? Very worried that Pierre isn't playing. He is very important to us.
If Kuffour gets pick again whatever happens at the end of the season it will be bye bye Ainsworth as it shows he can't make decisions that are best for the team, just what does he think he does for the team? F**k all! If we play 5 in midfield i'd rather have Morgan up front on his own as at least he has the height for corners and free kicks.
I actually have nothing but admiration for Ainsworth, except for his decision to keep playing Kuffour. That is a mystery to me. I would love to buy Gaz a drink in the bar to get his take on Kuffour.
I had admiration for Ainsworth as a player as he gave his all but as a manager he just doesn't cut it. Our leading scorer Morgan rarely gets a start while the headless chicken Kuffour starts that tells me Ainsworth hasn't a clue as manager. If we stay up i believe it won't be because of him but despite him as our manager, not all good players make good managers for the team they played for!
That's for sure. I'd go as far as saying not many do. Ainsworth can be inspirational and has contacts but, if I were the club owner, I would invest in him to learn more about the management side. You can't buy inspiration. Football is cluttered with managers who can't motivate. I would definitely give him another season, if necessary, bring someone in short term to help develop him. Who could we have in his place? Someone from a higher league who has been sacked? A promising manager from a lower league (Gary Waddock). It's a risky old business
do you know kuffour has a interesting record?? relegated with torquay relegated with brentford relegated with bournemouth relegated with us rovers had a break from relegation with gillingham relegated with wycombe????? soon find out!
Looks like he turned a corner (prays), or maybe he didn't play in the key matches for Gillingham. He had a much better record for Arsenal. Played 0. What the **** is he doing here let alone playing. I believe he scored a fantastic goal once. And he scored within 22 seconds in another game. That's it, I think.
Thinking about it, maybe we could loan him out to Northampton/Exeter/Harlepool for the rest of the season.
according to wiki, he has scored 5 goals for wycombe in 54 games. if he plays tomorrow and dont score then he averages 1 goal every 11 games for you which is shocking. hope he starts against us
1 in 11 oversells him - I have said many times he is honestly the worst player ever to regularly play for us, and being a Wycombe supporter that's saying something!!!! going onto tomorrows game, a 4-5-1 with either craig or morgan upfront and playing solid ugly football whilst trying to catch them on the break is (unfortunately) probably the best approach - it worked against skuntorpe and chesterfield so if we can get at least a point from tomorrow we can hopefully leave ourselves in a strong position regardless, after tomorrow the picture will become far clearer. I suspect torquay will be gone and we may be able to declare a couple of other teams safe. Most importantly every team will know what they have to do to stay up COYB, massive game
good time for the wobblers to stop buggering about and win. good luck and stay up, we need 6 points from somewhere next season.! same message to gas! jelly on the plate wibble wobble. hopefully we shall have some banter next season.
When does Kuffour's contract expire? He might be OK with a lower non league club. I mean lower than the one we may end up in.
If you can win your last 3 games AJ Tranmere and Crewe will need to win at least 2 of theirs to stay up. If either one fail then you would be safe. Preston will be in the play offs whatever happens elsewhere so go for it today.
