Johnson had the unenviable task of protecting the defence from Liverpool's forward line who have been well documented to be good at scoring goals. His pass was terrible for the winner but two of the three goals 'pool scored were deflections so you can say he didn't actually do to bad a job and Tettey is equally as error prone.
I'd rather see that. There's not a lot between Tettey and Johnson defensively, but Tettey passes better, and has the pace to give him a better chance of making up for errors. Perhaps Johnson's other qualities are deemed more important to Adams though.
I was by no means saying that I thought Johnson was at fault today or had a bad game just wanted to see what other peoples opinions are on that decision. I would personally have Tettey as part of the three in midfield for the same reasons as DH. I think he gives more energy in midfield with his pace and Is just as good defensively
Hey guys, just wanted to say fair dues today you deserved something from today and if you play like that in the remaining 3 games you should get something from them.
From our perspective it was a capitulation after we scored our second. Very strange, the same happened last week against City so it might well be a deliberate tactic. But with that said, us dropping deep is fine if our opposing team aren't playing well. That was not the case for your boys today, some excellent wide play, Redmond is a real talent and very much under the radar amongst the media and pundits. I'm not sure you have enough to stay up, it'll be a real battle for your lads but a win would give you a great chance, I think 4-5 points should just be enough to avoid the drop. All the best lads.
Just seen this from Suarez https://vine.co/v/M1EAuBzMiuV Great player, but an embarrassment to the game.
I'm hoping Arsenal have 4th place locked up before we play them, they've got a cup final around then so I hoping they are concentrating more on that.
One of the many reasons I wouldn't miss the prem. If players are that good why cheat? It is embarrassing, just ban them after the match to kick it out. It pisses me off how players who are basically cheats are held up as great players and praised by fans and media. All prem teams have them sadly. Less in lower leagues but still far too many.
Yeah he may have scored a lot of goals this season, but I kind of hope he doesn't win player of the season as I don't think they should reward cheaters.
First off, we were brilliant today, and I'm very proud of how everyone, including Redmond, played. BUT is anyone else surprised by the amount of praise Redmond gets from opposition fans? He's still young and I hope he has a great future with us but he is severely overrated and still has a great deal to learn. Not a scratch on Sterling AT THE MOMENT.
Also, Suarez should win player of the season as he is certainly the best player in the Premier League - the only criteria that matters.
It's a confidence thing, he had a good game today but he didn't run at teams like I've seen him do there were certain moments of hesitancy but I suppose we'd all be sorting out a firing squad if he tried to run past every player. His decision making can be questionable but with the right direction he could be a superb player.
Redmond was epic today playing off the striker like that made such a difference to his performance. Plus did anyone notice the shots at goal were all on target? He was unlucky he didn't score with one of them
I agree but I hope he Redmond sticks with us in the Championship as it's pace that wins that division. I can imagine him and Eliot Bennet on the wings in the championship and Snoddy and Fer in midfield with maybe hooper and another decent striker upfront.
Not sure it should be the only thing that matters. He is a cheat in my eyes, but there you go. Certainly from a football point of view a very good player though. Not convinced Sterling is as good as the media is making out tbh. But that depends on how good you think good is I suppose.
If suarez stopped the stupid cheating stunts he'd be an awesome player, until that happens he's just a bitter cheating twat and undoes all his hard work and skill - very sad
Every team has a player who goes down easily to win free kicks, you for instance have robert snodgrass, unfortunate sign of the times.
I'm still trying to understand how Snodgrass got off with just a yellow card after he went in two footed on Flannigan!
