So WHEN did they play with such passion? That was the best game of the season as a spectacle for me, despite the result. I suppose you preferred our glorious passionate performances at Swansea and Southampton and Man City and Everton and Spurs and Hull away. Not to mention those thrilling home defeats to Fulham and Villa and West Brom. Yes, there was plenty of passion in those games, wasn't there? I'll concede the Man City and Spurs and Everton home games. Full stop. We are going down because Hughton either didn't trust his players or didn't have the guts. And still people like you won't admit it.
Some fantastic tweeting: Last time Liverpool won the league Jon Flanagan's Mum and Dad were still just Brother and Sister
Sorry VC but the players have always shown passion and given 100% under Hughton and now Adams. The difference is that sometimes we looked completely awful under Hughton especially on the road; but remember that Adams has had more or less the entire Norwich squad to pick from in his games in charge and that they were against the worst team in the league and a game at home (and bar Brom and maybe another somewhere we ALWAYS played well at home under Hughton and even when we didn't we never lost by more than an odd goal) so it is wrong to make inferences which can never be based on anything other than speculation.
Are we certainly going down? Yes it's a mountain to climb but is this any tougher than any of the other games? I think we still have a chance.
I meant if. I still think we have a chance of getting some more points and will be at carrow road on last day of the season to see us secure PL status (I hope)
I don't agree with that. We're going down because we didn't create chances. I agree we didn't take many, but we created so few that we snatched at those that came along. I think a lack of creativity is the main cause of our problems. (Plus we haven't had much luck and we did have key injuries at key times, but that can happen to any team. An effective team somehow rides out those injuries.)
I'm giving up in a minute: I meant more generally, assists, etc, so today is a good example, lots of times in good positions but terrible balls, no clinical composure. Just as another example but for a little thought we could have had 6 points against Cardiff rather than 1, and would be safe, the same applies to many of the rather dull encounters this year
What's everyone's thoughts on Adams playing Johnson ahead of Tettey in his first two games. Personally I would play a midfield of Tettey, Fer and Howson. That was the best midfield combination earlier in the season before they all got injured.
You can't fault the players today with the exception of that shocking pass from Johnson, the effort was there and more importantly we've scored so I'm hoping that will boost Hoopers confidence. I'm just hoping Manchester United are at the park and Arsenal have that 4th spot settled before they meet us ,saying that Liverpool had something to play for today and still went for it! If we can nick a win from somewhere and the teams around lose we could just survive, it's a massive ask though.
